DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Monday, August 10th 2015

Escrow.com
I see people talking about the first domain name they ever registered.  Yet I have no idea what the first domain I registered.  I know I did it in the nineties and I did it at register.com but that’s all I remember.  I do remember I registered my daughters name a few months after her birth in 2000 (and still own it) but that’s it.  I guess I would have remembered more if I had registered some good names.  The only thing I did of any value is I hand registered a bunch of LLLL.coms which I either sold or use now as email.   The one thing I got of value is I learned what NOT to register.  Even if I had registered some good names I would have sold them by now because I was the antithesis of Rick Schwartz.  I sold everything I got a decent offer for.   I sold them like they were going to explode in a few weeks.  But the past is the past and I look forward and I think the forward looks pretty good. And make sure to go to DomainSherpa to see our newest show.  Here is today’s list.

iBanks.com  Now that I said I don’t like I names they are popping all over with good bids.

InternetTrust.com  17 years old.  And one of the hardest and most expensive things to develop

CreditCheckers.com  Only one bid at $12, 16 years old.  Pretty obvious what this one will be used for.

SilentWheels.com No bidders. 11 years old.  Don’t know what this is but for $12 I’m willing to wait and see if they are a thing later

ReWrapped.com One bidder. 11 years old.  Great regifting site name

BargainBee.com  Darn good name for under $25

CozyAndWarm.com  Great marketing name for a company that sells something that will make you both of these

DumbAssInc.com   No bidders and probably what I should have named my company.  At least I feel like it some days

TJYX.com  I know what you’re thinking.  This a beauty and should be over $1000.

PlaygroundOnline.com  The action is coming from the traffic.  Assume it was a games site or similar

2567.cc  You may have already missed the NNNN.cc boat.  All these are starting to do well with many in the four figures

Relies.com Another one of those dictionary words that gets bids but I have no idea what it would be used for without making up some far fetched idea

SSS2345.com  Yes this has more than one bid and it doesn’t get much traffic

DroneShows.com  Only two bidders and you know there are going to be more and more of these each year

RocketCloud.com  Ending in a few days.  I am biased toward rocket names though.  Cloud names are OK too

New GODADDY COUPON CODE: None Work, None. Click the link to See that None of them Work Godaddy Click This For No Savings

12C.com   An awesome name and a perfect example of how NOT to do an auction

14 Exact Match Domains.   A perfect example of hot to set yourself apart on an auction.  Love the writeup

7M7.com  I would think the bottom price for this would be $750 but the bid is nowhere close

AB5.com  Ditto here. But I like the above name better

SEDO’s Live Auctions Going on Now

Walmar.com   This is actually how its pronounced down south.  Probably a little typein traffic

15122.com   17 year old 5N.coms are usually worth watching or buying

Voltor.com  Cool 5L.com  no bidders.   Sounds like a bad guy in a superhero movie

MikeAndDave.com  No bidders.  There HAS to be a Mike and Dave partnership somewhere.

LeisureMachines.com  Love the name but not sure most people can spell leisure.

WCOD.com  Only 6 bidders on this one.  Deserves a lot more IMO

PHDR.com    PHD , DR .  A bunch of different ways to go with this one

GreenBusiness.com  Hot keyword for decades now.  Green.   I’m sure this name will do well.  Because everyone loves to be labeled green, even if they’re not

GigaTouch.com  Two more hot keywords.  Put together and it’s magic.  Magic Jerry, magic

  1. The first domain name I registered was the name of a newly formed UK anti terror organisation, I cant remember now what it was. I am probably on every watch list in the world now though!

The second domain I registered was the new name that a UK retailer had decided upon but never registered themselves. About 2 months later I got a legal letter through the post. It is at this point that I found TheDomains, which is great for legal advice, I gave the retailer the name as I was squatting, obviously. I also found RIcksBlog and Frank’s Seven Mile blog. Although I do not trade names like a lot of domainers, like Shane, the lesson that a high quality domain provides amazing credibility to a business has been beyond invaluable.

I live in the country I choose. I have been to 15 islands in the Caribbean this year, Mauritius in November. I do not have a boss anymore. I would say a lot of that is due to finding Frank and Rick’s blogs. Crazy.
