DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Monday, January 26th, 2015

Jan 26 2015

We released our first ever newsletter last night.  At this point it’s an early preview of this daily list.  I’m also putting in a bunch of links of news that relates to business.  Some are domain related. Others are just things I found interesting or entertaining.  Aaron and I will grow the newsletter as we go. I think it will be worth your time, especially if you are getting an email feed already.  It will be earlier, better laid out, and have a bit more info.  Make sure to sign up in the right hand corner of this site.   And make sure to watch this week’s Domain Sherpa Show.  Michael was nice enough to add me to the regular panel so unfortunately you’re going to get to see my ugly mug more often.  Here are today’s names.  Doesn’t really mean much to me but plenty of things called the Xboys and there are some bidders. Also 18 years old  This is a $10K plus name and guess the reserve has been set pretty high.  Worth watching though  What all startups are looking for. They may say that’s not true but deep down we all know it. is also up  Nice up for sale at  For $12 a solid logo name.  No bidders  Haven’t seen many LNL.coms come up over the last few weeks.   They sell very well. Worth owning a few  Getting a few bids at $300.  Worth more IMO  Go all tech on the drone crazy  First time I’ve seen a over $1000 at auction.  Ends early in the morning  Getting the highest price of all the LLLL.coms on GD today  Under $50 would be a good buy  A southern God  Great brand for touch tech.  At $66  At $1 and would be a fun one to own

A GODADDY COUPON CODE: A 99 Cent Dot Com Registration gt99br31  Slim pickins on Namejet today.  I know at least this one is liquid  Most people don’t know what treasuries are but the ones that do have a lot of money   Good acronym.  Terrible spelling of Toes  You get one last chance at this one  The thousandth to come up for auction in the last two months.  Or at least it feels like it  I think names like this make great brands. Cooky and cool I’m just so worried they won’t actually find one.  What if they don’t.  It’s driving me crazy  Over under $400 IMO  I could see an easy build out on this one.  Every middle aged woman on Facebook would link it  In a public auction.  Looks like everyone else liked it too

Thanks for your great domain tips, Shane. Really enjoy your posts. I have a question that kind of relates to your post, regarding For this auction, I placed a bid that was higher than than anyone else’s bid. As such, the way the auction mechanics work, the final bid price never got to the bid amount that I entered. It just stayed right above any other bidder’s amount. Normally this is fine, but in the case where the reserve wasn’t met, it was a bit disappointing, since the bid that I entered may have been above the reserve and apparently there was no one else willing (crazy enough?) to go that high. I would think in cases where the reserve hasn’t been met, the current bid should simply be the highest bid. Anyway, sorry for rambling. Any insight would be appreciated and may help others as well. Thanks!

It’s a flaw in Godady’s system. If it makes you feel any better, you needed to be above $10K to make reserve IMO. He already passed on $5K
