As I grow as a business person and as a business, I have put myself into the fortunate position to be able to take advantage (and foresee) a ton of opportunity to make money. Some of the ideas have come about because of an increased economy and timing, some because of increased understanding of a few more businesses. The common denominator is it takes money. Some times it’s securing product. Others it’s equipment. Seeing the opportunity is half the battle but without cash it’s not much use. Yes you can take on investment but really all you want is money, not more people involved. Sharing the kitty makes others wealthy and you less wealthy. I’m at that point this fall. I have some money, it’s just my business and opportunities are now in the millions and my time is almost topped out. I’m giddy with the possibilities and scared to death as I move towards fulfilling them. Not to mention a little tired. I enjoy rewarding those that are coming along for the ride and helping me reach my goals, but it also gets frustrating because they are always the first to be rewarded (as they should) as the big money that comes is always in a much longer time period. I am only writing this now because of upcoming talks next week with city planners, banks, and possible clients, and it’s been a little while since I’ve been nervous. A little nervous because I’m excited and a little because of all the work and effort that is going to be needed. I often wonder if I have more to give or if I want more. More money, more responsibilities, more long hours. Of course, I’ll share as I go along. Here are today’s names.
