DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Thursday, January 22nd, 2015

Jan 22 2015

Recorded an episode of DomainSherpa with the guys yesterday and I’ll give you a sneak peek.  There are going to be 4 portfolios.  One of the portfolios is pretty well put together.  I’m not positive as to when or how much they each invested but it appeared like they were all recent additions.  Meaning that they had purchased most of the names in the last 5 years.  I could be wrong. But its going to be a good example of what to buy and what not to buy.  Look for it soon.  PS Congrats to Flippa for getting the Glitter site sold.  Great for the company  Here are today’s names.

Non Domaining Site of the Day: Fast Company’s 30 Second MBA  I figured this one would go cheap. Or at least hoped.  But it’s got some fans  On it’s way to the average price of $750  Would make a nice brand at $12.  One person agrees so it’s going to cost you at least $25.  Just like a beer in Vegas   I can see this one hitting $1500. It’s just that pretty  Worth a few hundred dollars IMO. Then again I thought spending $100 on a Ken Griffey 89′ Upper Deck card back in the day was a good idea so what do I know? 16.6K backlinks for under $50 doesn’t seem like a bad deal  One bidder.  Not a bad marketing name for the price  A  Interesting TLD but actually works for this keyword.  If the new Gs work then why not this one.  Only $75  Has a good bid but there’s still a few hours to bid more  Has met reserve and gets solid traffic.  Interesting site….I spent hours doing research  Shame on this copycat domain owner. And congrats on the sale

A GODADDY COUPON CODE: A 99 Cent Dot Com Registration gt99br31  Slice…kinda .   20 years old  Another nice one that ends in a vowel.  People in our industry will eat this one up  You want a name people won’t forget?  Here you go.  No bidders  Ditto. Not a strong work email though No bidders.  I like it but then again I’m pretty damn hungry right now so I may be biased It’s not elephant balls but its going to do well  Lower end of the LLL.coms but the lower end still has more value than most of my names  I would think a lot of Jons would want this for their site and/or email    I guess you gotta learn to fly the whirlybirds somewhere  Not sure I want to see the buildout
