DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Wednesday, January 21st, 2015

Jan 21 2015

I’ve always felt that my nursery is a good representation of the US economy. I am actually a reporting member of the Producer Price Index but that’s not what I feel accurately depicts the economy.  When sales are good at our retail centers the stock market seems to follow the same pattern in growth and vice versa.  Right now I am experiencing a HUGE demand surge for product and growers, myself included, are having trouble keeping up with demand for products that take more than one year to produce.  This in turn is causing prices to climb.  Those prices are being passed on to retail.  And retailers don’t have a problem increasing prices right now because nobody has increased prices since 2007.  For the past 8 years all we’ve done is reduce package size and kept the same price making everyone think prices aren’t going up.  Check the ounces in your cereals and yogurts and you’ll see, same shape, less ounces, same price.  An additional problem is lack of labor.  There are a ton of people looking for good help.  The competition is heating up and salaries are up as much as 10-20% to attract new hires.  To the point that the older staff has taken notice and asked for raises as well.  In short, more money in people’s pockets, higher prices, higher profits for companies.  Add in the cheap fuel and it’s looking like good times for the US economy IMO.   Here are today’s names.

Non Domaining Site of the Day: Bloomberg’s “How Much did the Billionaires Make or Lose Today  Surgeons get all the glory but Family Medicine is where all the need is. 20 years old  Luxottica owns all the eyeglasses, stores, and vision centers.  They’ll buy this eventually. 18 years old  Billions of dollars in skatewear, snow,  and surfwear .   I think it’s come down a bit but it’s still in the billions. Quicksilver is close to a billion alone  Doesn’t mean anything to mean but sounds like a cool brand.  Buy cheap and sell for $300  Call to action. Who doesn’t want to live longer?  Don’t answer that.  One bidder  H for holdings. 13 years old Under $75 at presstime.  Worth more IMO   I like this one just as much. Under $50 at press time  No bidders.  An old saying.  I was frozen like “a deer in headlights”  Memorable if not anything else  This one is getting lots of attention.  Probably because it’s all good letters Vegas LOVE to talk about being vegan.  This should do very well  Has a bid at $1500, yes, $1500  A  Interesting TLD but actually works for this one.  If the new Gs work then why not this one.  Only $55  It’s no eJuice but it did $16K in revenue last year.  Drones are selling like crazy.  The artificial intelligence will soon follow.  There are already drones that do a great job returning to base or staying 20 feet away at all times on their own.  At $20   Another AI name.  Google it and you’ll see hundreds of millions are being spent into trying to reproduce the thoughts and actions of the human brain.  No bidders at $10   14 years old.  This name just jumped up massively in value recently

A GODADDY COUPON CODE: A 99 Cent Dot Com Registration gt99br31  No bidders.  Has to be a few vineyards in Iowa  Only 18 bidders on this solid  No bidders   Another with solid letters.  A lot of people are selling lately.  Means we’re hitting another level. I also think there are some deals out there because so many have been up for sale lately  Missed this one on the first round.  This reminds me that I actually saw a guy post his GRE score on his LinkedIn page.  One of the funniest things I’ve seen on the Internet.  That would kill any job offer his graduate degree got him  Pending Delete.  One R away from an error  You think it gets over $20K?
