We’ve been getting just crushed with hot weather over the last month here in Illinois. Great for online sales, bad for brick and mortar. Brick and mortars are struggling enough as it is. Fortunately for commercial real estate, every day consumables are doing well. The best grocery stores are always packed. Good restaurants are busy. People have plenty of money to spend. But anything that you can get on amazon and shipped for free is not being purchased locally anymore. Not too much of a dent in the past but its starting to hurt. Fortunately not mine. Perishable plants, mulch, rock, and chemical treatments they need now, are all pretty safe. If anything, the internet has made consumers more hungry for unusual and healthy plants (after seeing the tired plants at Wal-mart and Lowes). But the weather. That’s a different beast. Older and fatter consumers struggle with the heat and simply stay at home. Leading to super crowded cooler days. But all is well. I am still very happy with the crowds. Its mostly before two PM to avoid the heat, but I’ll take what I can get. I myself was “done” at 2 pm today. After an 18 mile run in 90 plus heat index before work, and then a busy morning of customers trying to avoid the 110 heat index expected in the afternoon, by 2 I am slurring and ready to go to bed for the day. Not exactly a healthy choice day. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Here are today’s names. Click to see current prices

90 is not hot. It was 125 where Im at yesterday. Enjoy the weather 🙂
Hot? We ain’t seen nothing yet.
In 20 years or sooner people won’t be able to live in some parts of the World because it will be too hot. Also rising sea levels will wipe out many coastlines. When we get a 2 foot sea level rise many of the condo’s in Miami will have very wet lobbies.
It was 54+ Celsius in Kuwait the other day!!! That’s 129 Fahrenheit!!!!
Koosah and Steve,
Sounds like I am lucky to only be that hot. Or maybe I’ll just move to Seattle like the rest of the world. 🙂
