DSAD.com: Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday January 5th

Jan 05 2017

Escrow.com

I was out to dinner with an economist and the former Chairman of Goldman Sachs and we got to talking about Information Asymmetry.   It’s something that all traders and money makers are looking to find.  Essentially its when one person has more information than the other.  But the real search is to find someone that can give you more information about the the product than the person selling it.  It’s hard to achieve because most owners know more about their product because they have it in hand.  Goldman Sachs always seek the kind of people that can give them that edge.  Because a little edge made them tens of millions of dollars.  I seek it in domain investing.  Using tools or information that may give me more information about the true value of that name to a particular industry.  So far I don’t feel that I have truly gained an advantage but every year I get stronger in certain categories and I do have an advantage over some sellers just due to my knowledge of the overall value of domains.  It’s the kind of discussion I love being involved in but I must admit I’m a little nervous speaking up when I’m discussing economics with two men that are some of the brightest men in the world in their fields.  It was one of the times I knew it was best to just shut up and listen and ask a few questions.  Here are today’s names.  Click to see current price.

Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

TheTransformation.com    Everyone loves a feel good story.  14 years old

Serotta.com  Used to be a pretty good bike company.  Merged with another company but owner Ben still does design work.  He did the CitiBikes you see in New York

Parod.com  A kibbutz in a northern part of Israel

BMXC.com   I used to buy all the XC at the end names I could because they stood for Cross Country.  Rather be lucky than good

ATAI.com    A stock symbol for an Agricultural company and a few other means in various languages.  Getting four figure bids

DigiTrack.com   14 years old.  Music or track something

Data4u.com   Data names are doing very well.  Even the abbreviation doesn’t seem to bother bidders

DataStars.com    Ditto

AnimeNewsService.com   7,000 backlinks and 16 years old

LocalSavings.com  Getting four figure bids

GCMonitor.org   At $1400, has to be the 18,800 backlinks. Don’t see any other value

MagicSauce.com  Now this one I get.  Always looking for the guy with the magic sauce

JuiceZone.com   Are juice bars still popular.  Bids say that are

EliteHire.com    We only hire the best, or atleast someone that will take the job at this point

TrashBank.com   A lot of money in trash

TheAdmin.com     Already a game of the same name

FreeProxySite.com   Could make tons of votes on online polls without them.  Maybe that’s just me. I really like to win polls

BingeDrink.com   Don’t, I tried it one evening

CloudStoring.com   A little off of cloud storage but most people don’t care.  I do, sounds funny but look at the silly bidders

MMB.me  Not a great sales history with LLL.me but these are some very nice letters

DOY.cc   I still think LLL.cc are worth investing in at the right price but you are selling to the Chinese market so make sure you feel comfortable with that

Murphy.com  This one is going to for a lot of money.  I see no reserve and its from 1989

AudioMedia.com   I’ve taken a liking to podcasts aka audio media

PTT.org  I haven’t been putting a lot of dot orgs on here but I think I should be if I think the letters are good for a Western market IMO.  They do sell

FADU.com   Its a CVCV and that seems to be all that matters right now

TIMI.com   This one is getting even more bids

Shevon.com  9 million Goog results for this name.   Hopefully one of them has a lot of money and wants it

CompetitiveIntelligence.com     Longer name but so important when building or starting a brand or company

TARB.com   A bit derp sounding but nice and short and pronounceable

KneeSurgery.com   The most popular non cosmetic surgery in America. Actually its not, cataract and C-Section, then joints

Flippa and Sedo

If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. “From 2005 to 2007, Goldman Sacks issued and underwrote many mortgages and securities that had been backed by residential loans borrowed by consumers with shoddy credit ratings.”
They had to pay a 5.1 BILLION fine for the crap they pushed.

Was this part of their “edge”?? Ripping people off and almost bankrupting the entire global economy and THEN getting huge handouts FROM TAXPAYERS!!???
Many of those “experienced investors” should have been put in jail and fed gruel. Instead the “government” handed them huge subsidies to pad their losses AND POCKETS. Outrageous. Was this person part of that band of pirates?
It’s like a revolving door from investment banking to government advisors and the “sheeple” keep sucking it up.
Sad times. Arresting people for a joint and letting “bankers” steal hundreds of millions of peoples savings through fraudulent investments????? Real fair system we have here……………….
quantitative easing is another word for “FRAUD”.

      Steve,

He was not running the company in those years. This sounds very personal and emotional for you. You should certainly use that and serve the community. Sounds like you would do a great job.

      1. Steve

Not personal at all. I am just extremely dissappinted in these huge companies that rip people off selling crap as AAA investments. Most sheeple have no idea they are in with a den of wolves waiting to eat them alive. Goldman sacks packaged countrywide garbage loans as AAA. Sold them to people who lost their entire savings!
Imagine if you took that approach with your plant or domain customers?? Selling dead plants as healthy perrenials only to have them die when the customer gets them home and the fertilizer spike wears off? Or selling a .12digit dot crap as a premium name?
That’s what goldman sucks did. Wells fargo was cconvicted for opening accounts in customers names without their knowledge for 10yrs to pump the books!
Is that The Edge you want?
