DSAD.com: Shane’s List of Domains at Auction for Thursday the 19th

Escrow.com
.
Hoped you liked yesterday’s Sherpa “Instant” show.  Mike had a great idea to tape a quick show and discuss the current market.  We probably could have talked for days but only had a few minutes.  I’m sure we’ll do it again.  Today’s (and most days lately) is a pretty good synopsis of today’s market. Here are today’s names. Click for current price.
.
828893.com   Met reserve and it’s going to sell.  No 4s, no zeros, and three 8s.  A good start to the list
.
LSYS.com  20 years old.  That alone adds to the value.  The alternating Ss are the other big player in this price
.
SexShop.net  Even the dot net has value when it comes to Sex.  Looks like sex is going to sell……….for over $500
.
MonsterLand.com  A PR4 and 19 years old.   Sounds like a place I would take my kids for the weekend. And spend too much money
.
PrivateGames.com   Another nice one for not a lot of money.  Private LAN parties have been around for years
.
NGNS.net  Dot nets are hotter than the last girl left at the domain conference party (and I meant that in a gentlemanly way)

7g.biz   Are our phones going to get to 7G?   The money is in the short and the rising prices of shorty.biz not the phones like everyone thought at the time of registration.  Still cheap but a few days to go
.
CaymanHome.com  Hard to believe there is only one bidder on this nice real estate name
.
XMCG.com  CHIP and I like it for even a Western Company because the X is for decoration.  Will probably cross $3K judging by the bidding. 12 years old
.
XMCG.net   Might as well pick up the pair if you’re at it
.
CNAO.com  These good Western names with vowels have picked up steam.  I think these continue to be the value due to their end user sales possibilities
.
DRJK.com  Doctor Jack Knowles would love to have this.  And so would Zhang Wei
.
XDXB.com  My favorite LLLL.com on the list the last week or so.  I will be a bidder.  Love how memorable it is.
.
6RQ.com  These have made a bit of a jump.  A few months ago the average was $750
.
YourMedical.com  Medical names continue to draw buyers and personalizing it works for me.  Under $30 at press time
.
GHSJ.com  11 years old.  The J keeps it from being a Western Premium but doesn’t stop it from getting a good price
.
LKHN.com  Funny this one had an opening bid of $2000 when I first looked at it but now its opening bid is $2500. Someone is paying attention (I still think it gets hit ) Perfect domain for the guy that only has their right hand
.
FHMX.com  9 years old.  Nice to see all these LLLL.coms with some age finally get the price they deserve. I am saying this because I have some and want to get a lot of money.  I am biased
.
XHAA.com  This one is the result of a CHIP and WhiP (Western Premium, new word I made up) having a baby
.
XKLG.com I’m starting to feel like someone had a lot of LLLL.coms that start with X to sell because there are a lot today
.
28126.com  These are getting hard to find.  Get them while you can under $5K
.
RLNQ.com  All Chinese.  Q is for quality
.
90005.com  Nice and round.  Punished for the zeros, and then brought back up because its easy remember
.
YG.biz   The LL.biz are holding up.   Although short dot biz has always done well.  Just not this well.  But Hell, nothing had done this well.
.
DS.biz  I like this one even more.  We’ll see how it does compared to the above.  I think it sells for more
.
80238.com  The zero takes thousands out of the price.  I’ll take the flanking 8s any day
.
96124.com   Again, thank the 4 for letting you in the 5N.com market cheap
.
Today’s Battle  WTBU.com vs. FJDR.net    Can a 4L.net CHIP beat a 4L.com with a vowel.   I say the .com takes it
.
NGNS.net  I admit it, I wish I would have stocked up on LLLL.nets earlier.  But I guess I can say that about a lot of domains
.
595688.com  I love this one.  I have tried all week to buy 6Ns though and have been outbid, every……single…..time
.
GWSX.com  Has a reserve which is a turn off evidently. Only at $1000 at press time
.
ZCXC.com  This one as well.  But its mine and I’m using it to gauge value.  Of course last time I did that it sold and it cost me $700 in a week
.
BMDY.com  Also with a reserve and lagging way behind.  If you want to sell its best just put it in at no reserve and let the market dictate the price in my opinion
.
KFKN.com I take that back.  Reserve here and its doing well
.
258199.com  I may be able to buy this one because it doesn’t have an 8
.
FXXPP.com  I tried to buy 4 names with great patterns and only got one.  At $200, yes $200. The rest went for more
.
WKVV.com   One V bad, two Vs good.  This one is doing very well.  Much better than your average V name
.
0118.net   People have forgotten about 4 number dot net because they just don’t come up for sale very often any more

.
Special Domain Shane ONLY Coupon…….. CODE IS DDCDS2015 – Good 30% off Discount Domain Club to get the lowest renewal prices Godaddy offers (DDC)
.
Pauleen.com  Not getting much love considering its a first name. No bids at $1.  And you know that old fashioned names are coming back.  Sorry Kaitlyn
.
PWBZ.com   Reserve met at $2K.  It will sell
.
Flightz.com  Sold for $2K back in September on Namejet.  So you have an idea of the reserve
.
Lengthy.com  Heard Ali got hacked and so this one is on hold
.
360.to   Considering 360.com sold for 15 million this has to be worth more than zero
.
Hotdog.io   Dot io is all about creating a startup.  Hotdog is a great name for a startup
.
288.club   Under $500 is a pretty good price for this one.   I’ll be bidding
.
898.club  This is my favorite of the non 3 number dot clubs.
.
RTTP.com  Don’t see a lot of double middles.  Already at $2700 with a few hours left
.
JTG.com Has a 230,000 bid.  Yes 230K
.
FOR OTHER GREAT NAMES FOR SALE MAKE SURE TO VISIT CAX.COM
.
NRNY.com  A similar name closed in the $5K mark. This one is getting close
.
ZVZZ.com  Damn V, costs the owner $5K. Still a great name
.
PPFR.com   The double P is nice.  Should help make it expensive
.
ATLS.net   ALL types of 4L.nets are seeing a resurgence with the Chinese market.  And As are the best of the vowels in that market.  Great acronym for ours
.
SimpleDinners.com   Love this one.  Its what every family is looking for
.
WSDN.com  WHIP and CHIP.  Going to do well
.
WebDegree.com   There is a lot of money in lead gen and CPC for online education.  Perfect name to capture it
.
TexasLaser.com  This is one of those names you have no idea how many people use it until you Google it.  A ton of companies would benefit from the upgrade
.
Poyas.com  A last name or just a 5L.com   No bidders
.
Horan.com  The last name of one of the guys from One Direction.  Enough said And the domain may be older than him. The domain is 20 years old
.
FQF.net  A nice looking LLL.net  I’m attracted to patterns now.  Actually always had been but was lured into thinking everything needed a word.  Now I like both
.
FFFE.com  I’ll be curious to see how this one does.  The vowel is the wild card
.
Summer.net  One of the nicest .nets out there.  Nothing is better than summer.  Don’t know who exactly would buy it from you but I acknowledge its appeal
.
BGTZ.com  The BG is driving up the price.  May hit $5K
.
DSFY.com   Y for Yearlong.   Of course I don’t know a company that uses that term.  Doesn’t matter….It’s a CHIP baby
.
Weed.xyz Back up for sale.  I have weed.cc so I’m already invested in random weed domains
.

  1. Just wonder how such a professional guy like Michael Cyger invited a NERD like you (SHANE) to join his domain sherpa show ???

    1. Jim,

I’ve been called a lot of things, and many deservedly, but this is my first time being called a Nerd. Is it still 1988? If it is he asked me because I’m rad

    2. Just wondered why such an unprofessional guy like Jim can’t come up with a thought worth reading that isn’t a waste of time and space on Shane’s totally juicy blog. No need to answer.

  2. Nerds. Rule. Period. What’s the question?

Great variety today – any chance you can include more auctions that aren’t of the ‘expiring milliseconds after posting’ nature? It’s rather frustrating to look at these at noon and see most of them gone.

    1. Chris,

You have to get up earlier 🙂 It seems to work best to include names that are expiring that day. I may try to include some “special” names that are closing in 24 hours. Thanks for the comment

  3. Leave it as it is, Shane. No changes required to this fantastic service.

Those of us on the other side of the pond are more than happy with how this works. Time zones…such a wonderful thing! 😉

  4. I haven’t invested too much into the Nglds but I think NNN.Club will have significant more value in a few years especially with the Chinese market.

In China there are two schools of domain investors. One school, the majority and the mainstream, focuses on .com and .cn. The other school feels premium .com and .cn are too expensive for the common folks to invest, but finds other extensions offer more value. eName editor Wei Wei interviewed eight domain investors (some names are nicknames) for their views.

    Yu Sheng DENG like .Club

Yao ZHANG sticks to .com and .cn only, because the former is king and the latter is backed by the Chinese government. Both extensions are used extensively and have wide support from corporations.

Yi Peng XIE focuses on .com but also buys .cn. He thinks the other extensions are very risky because they are subject to market manipulation, causing big rise and fall in prices.

Xiao He WANG buys .com only, because it’s a “hard currency” in China. He does not recommend buying domain names in big lots.

Zuh Jiao does not go beyond .com, .cn, and .com.cn, because they are solid extensions. He suggests that investors should always be aware of risks, consider actual use and value to end users, and not to follow the crowd.

Qi says domain buying used to mean value investing but now is about speculation. He divides his fund equally between the two, and invests in .com, .cn, and .cc.

Yu Sheng DENG thinks investing in new gTLDs is fine. Because mainstream extensions are expensive (even 6N .com have rocketed in prices), end users will consider other extensions. He likes .club because it is used globally including China, unlike .wang and .top.

Li Mei mainly invests in .com, .cn, and .cc. She likes .cc because the extension is short, looks beautiful, has wide applications, and is backed by Verisign. This year she invested 350k RMB to hand-regged more than 20k of .cc and so far the value of her portfolio has risen to 20m RMB.

Ma Long loves new gTLDs because many names are available and easy to remember. The key is low price with a lot of room for price increase. He has no doubt the new gTLDs will have a place in China. A good example is .wang where he has profited 1m RMB.

Shane since you have invested into .cc names here is some news for you.

S.cc was sold in an auction for 2.31m RMB. ($360.2k)

The letter S has a lot of value in commerce. It may mean 商(business), 搜(search), 市(city), 省(province), and 盛(abundance).
