Domain Spotlight:

A few months ago I contacted Uniregistry support because a domain that was listed at BrandBucket was pointing to some weird name server and I couldn’t change it back. Support responded several times, but initially they had no idea what the problem was.

I never looked at there final answer until tonight, I guess I just missed it. Apparently the domain is part of some FBI investigation lol. It seems a little crazy for the government to restrict a domain  that’s a 5 character made up name, I’m not sure what they’ll find with it.

It’s just 5 letters, there’s no server data attached to it, no missing emails and no video clips of prostitutes peeing on a bed. If the name was used for something unlawful than just take the damn thing from me and store it in a warehouse in Nevada, next to the Ark of the Covenant. There’s no information to be found by the name sitting in my uniregistry account, unless they’re using it for a sting operation, tracking people that navigate to it.

In any case, how can the FBI just take your domain and not even tell you about it? Well technically they didn’t take it, I just can’t use it for anything. Shit, if they are using it to lure criminals in I’ll be the fall guy with the whois still intact.
