Following up on yesterday’s post with six recent domain sales which have been developed, Braden Pollock of Legal Brand Marketing wrote to share one of his examples: Wiretap.com.
Braden sold the domain last year for $20,000, and the buyers have developed it exactly as he imagined: a security related platform. They describe themselves as follows,
“Wiretap is a cloud security platform that aims to adopt the latest advancements in cognitive computing, artificial intelligence and behavioral analytics to amplify enterprise value by monitoring the social graph (Office 365, Slack, FB workplace). We really believe that we can harness the power of our platform’s insights into human behavior and interactivity to create great value for the enterprise.”
The Columbus, Ohio-based company just closed on $3 million in venture funding this month to help fuel their growth (as also mentioned in Doron Vermaat’s post today).
The company smartly rebranded from Feedcop.com, which is now redirected to Wiretap.com.
I’ve embedded an intro video below:
Wiretap for Yammer from Wiretap on Vimeo.
Braden said he bought the name for $14,100, and while it’s not the jaw-dropping return that we’ve seen from him on some other sales (Statement.com as an example), we’re still talking about an excellent 40% return. He said one of the motivations to sell was that it was the only offer he had received since he bought the domain.
Thanks Braden for sharing, and enjoy Gambia!
Congrats Braden and thanks Aaron for sharing 🙂
