I’m out in California for a family event and I can see why people want to live here and I can see why people want to get out. Sooo many people. Just packed on top of each other and home prices 10X what it costs in the Midwest. I think the best way to do California is work and earn in California and retire somewhere else. Your home can get you an amazing place pretty much everywhere else in the country. But the weather, the views, the water. It really is amazing. If you have enough money then I guess it really is a dream place to live. I’d love to have a place in Laguna Beach like Kate Buckley and Todd and walk to the beach. Almost did but didn’t quite work out. My Mom is selling her place here . Purchased in the 80s for 30K and will sell for 1.3 million plus. Not a bad investment. Unfortunately that means my free place to stay is gone so Kate and Braden and all the California crew are going to have a guest in the coming years. I’ll do what I do for my Mom. Work in the gardens and do chores in exchange for a bed and clean sheets.
