Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday, March 11th, 2024

One of my favorite parts about skiing is the names of the runs. Not sure who names these but it’s a job I want. In Illinois, our slopes have like 6 runs that are about 800 meters long and you’re done in 10 minutes. In Colorado, they go on forever. My legs are burning by the time I get to the end. 4 different lifts take you to different parts of the mountain or mountains and I would come down and end up in places I’ve never been. You can’t get lost at an Illinois ski resort. I’m a bad skier so I was taking slopes like “Mother’s Breast Milk” but then I’d take a wrong turn and find myself on “Satan’s Fiery Asshole” and flying into the trees. They say its like riding a bicycle but whoever “they” are is lying. I couldn’t remember anything. I knew I was in trouble when the lift guy pushed my butt to get me in the right position for the chair lift. And once on all I could think was please don’t fall right out of the chair as we get out and make them press the “kid is getting off the lift” button that stops it momentarily. I didn’t but I came out of the chair like a newborn giraffe.

I cut that “Mother’s Breast Milk” into so many pieces, back and forth, back and forth, that it made the run into an hour. It was horrible and I questioned my future athletic endeavors. I felt I had aged out of all activities. Eventually, I got the hang of it and it wasn’t too bad. It got difficult later in the day after 5 hrs of skiing and my legs started getting tired. My legs were dragging and catching edges so I took a few falls. Falling was the easy part. Getting up, not as easy. All in all I was just happy to spend time with my daughter. It was also Spring Break week across the country so the slopes were pretty busy. Again, not as crazy as Illinois where there is only one resort, but “Mother’s Breast Milk” draws a lot of beginners like me and the only thing worse than being a beginner is to be surrounded by them. I’m sure those kids will recover from me bowling them over.

  1. LOL. I remember the first Black Diamond we accidentally ended up on and you can’t turn around after you get to the entrance. Glad I did it when young though. GOOOD Times.
