Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday, March 4th, 2024

Before we get to the story a reminder that the expired dot AI auction ends today and the best place to get them is at Dynadot our sponsor

Got caught in my first snowstorm in Colorado. I was coming from Denver to the High Country and they got 10-12 inches of snow and 50-60 mph winds. I thought for sure I was going to be waiting on the highway for hours but turned out the real problem were all the people coming OUT of the mountains and not going into them. It was Sunday and people had gone to all the resorts for the weekend and were trying to beat the storm and instead, it caused a 30-mile traffic jam. The other way was melted really well because the sun broke through that let the salt activate. The other side had so many cars they covered the road from the sun. But I think it was moving so slowly that the car heat probably melted it.

I have to admit I was a little nervous heading in because they had closed every road that split off of route 70—never a good sign. I had the car fully prepped for a long trip: jackets, mittens, hats, plenty of food and water, and a big extra battery. I could have waited but as a person who has worked -40 degrees and 60 mph storms when I plowed for a living, I didn’t think I would have a problem other than time. When I plowed I would have to go out when nobody else was supposed to be out. I loved it. To me the dangerous part of the storms were the people that shouldn’t have been out. I spent 50% of my time plowing the roads and parking lots and 50% saving men and women who took the wrong car out and got stranded in very dangerous places.

It all worked out fine and I actually got there faster than I do when its busy in the summer. Barely any cars going my way and the road to myself. Again, melted very well for all but the last 5 miles where it got down to one lane and only two lines to put your tires in. A gorgeous drive once you get rid of the anxiety
