Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday, March 29th, 2023

I retired at the end of the year to give my time to myself and my family and to do some of the things I wanted to do. Unfortunately or fortunately that time has had to be utilized in ways I didn’t want to have to do.

A few weeks ago my wife’s parents were traveling home from a vacation in Texas and were hit by a semi. Her Mom did not make it. I have been back and forth from Oklahoma waiting and making tough decisions. Something I don’t wish on anyone. What may be harder than grieving a loss is helping a grieving husband who lost their wife unexpectedly. To pile on my best friend, a doctor and incredible athlete had his knee start hurting and turned out that was a rare infection and it has been a dangerous battle. Add in the mental issues that come from going from vibrant and athletic to chances of losing your leg and your life.

I say all this not for condolences but to remind you all to not take anything for granted. I quit my job to stop going through the motions with the realization I only have so much time on this earth. I loved the nursery and the business, but it also took 60 hrs a week and was an excuse to say no to many things I needed to do. So I took that out. While I don’t think any actions are preordained, I am so grateful I could be there in full mental capacity with the only worries being people I love. So when your Mom or Dad call, take it. Call a friend when you think of them. If you are able to go see a friend or family do it. That’s if you want to see them. Support your Champions. Create new ones. Let my words remind you rather than a loss
