Shane’s List of Domains at Auction for Friday, April 4th, 2025

It’s spring, which for me is a little different than it used to be at the nursery, but it still means the same thing when it comes to getting into shape. This is the time of year when I take off weight in preparation for hard marathon training, which usually starts in June.

It makes no sense to most people why middle-aged folks still compete so heavily in sports when they aren’t “competitive.” But competitive is all relative. You’re competing against yourself, against others your age, and against complacency.

Aging is a game of deterioration. It starts at a number and goes down from there. If you can make that number as high as possible, aging isn’t so bad. Sure, there are a million things that can get you—things you can’t control—which is even more reason to work on the things you can.

Peter Attia said it best: If you want to run marathons when you’re 80, that is 100% doable. What you can’t stop is the decline, so we need to build you up to a point where a 30% drop in VO2 max and strength still gets you across the marathon finish line.

For me, that means I need to have a VO2 max of 54–55 and be able to go 50 miles without a problem, and hit a 3:10–3:15 marathon time at age 60. My goal isn’t necessarily to run a marathon at 80—but I want to be able to if I choose to. To have the walking capacity to see a few things, enjoy life, and have great conversation.

The work I’m doing now is to have a great now—and to build a base for the years to come. I don’t have as many years ahead of me as I do behind, so I have to make every moment count.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
