A post on X yesterday claimed that Starbucks jobs should only be for students and not a career—that if your children work there as a career, you’ve failed as a parent. I completely disagree.
If your kid has a full-time job, pays the bills, and, most importantly, is happy, that’s all you can ask for. Most of us end up making a living in ways we never expected. Our careers often find us rather than the other way around.
How much money you make only matters in the sense that it’s enough—enough to afford housing, food, and, again, happiness. I make a fraction of what others do, yet many would love to have my lifestyle and joy.
Coffee is also a lucrative industry. Starbucks offers solid wages, a 401(k), and insurance for managers—benefits that are a major part of employment. I’d bet that at least 20% of the workforce stays in jobs primarily for the benefits rather than the pay.
Raise your kids to think critically, work hard, and make choices that move them forward in life, and you’ve done your job as a parent.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
