I hate to say it, but Southwest is the new Spirit. It’s lost its soul and turned into a budget, “pay-to-play” operation.
The service was a mixed bag. I had two flight attendants who were physically unable to walk down the aisle without hitting my laptop and elbows. It’s not just an inconvenience; it’s a safety hazard when the crew can’t move freely through the cabin. Thankfully, the other two were solid classic Southwest employees who were cracking jokes and handing out extra Oreos. They reminded me of the “good old days.”
Then there’s the nickel-and-diming. Want a seat assignment? That’ll be $39 to $79. Want to check a bag? $45. I actually risked taking my hiking poles through TSA PreCheck just to avoid the fee. Luckily, the TSA agents were TSA pre people who let the poles go, unlike the ones at my local airport who once confiscated my running gels despite them being sealed and under the limit.
As for the Wi-Fi? It’s basically a 1991 dial-up modem. While other airlines are boasting about Starlink, I was stuck with a connection that cut out for a full hour. I know paying for business class seems crazy to some, but the older I get, the more I’m willing to pay just to avoid this chaos. Fortunately for this flight I can listen to 6 movies from people who watch without headphones. That should keep me occupied
Quote of the Day: “The worst sort of business is one that grows rapidly, requires significant capital to engender the growth, and then earns little or no money. Think airlines. Here a durable competitive advantage has proven elusive ever since the days of the Wright Brothers.” — Warren Buffett,

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
