I love AI, use it every day, but it has gotten me in trouble, and I think it is going to be a big problem that everyone faces every day. Not double-checking your work. It makes you lazy. You crank out documents and stats and don’t go back and double-check the accuracy of the information. Relying on it as truth. It is not. It is very accurate and compiles data and information in a timeframe that is 100X faster than we can do it ourselves, but there will be errors. If you ever notice, when you find an error, it says
“You are correct, that is wrong, let me fix it for you.” If you don’t ask it you know what happens? Nothing. It becomes your document or article. Full of wrong. How do you know what is wrong? Honestly, you often don’t. It takes more research and fact-checking than people are willing to do. Fake information only exists because of a lack of effort to prove otherwise.
I am as guilty as anyone. Not for anything important, but you’ll notice I’ve messed up links here, and it’s because I found an error in my reset. We have a tool, not AI, but a tool that helps us build links but on a reset to do a new batch, it goes back to a different setup, and I run the links with the wrong auction house. It saves so much time and allows me to hand-pick the name but put them up much quicker. All of which is worthless if I lead everything to the wrong name. I became lazy because its so easy and efficient and works 99% percent of the time I didn’t check. I should, but after checking 100 times and its right, I don’t keep checking.
This 100% is happening with AI results. From now on, I am rechecking my work, running my results on AI multiple times and comparing results. Asking for discrepancies and reasons. It doesn’t take that much more time but certainly necessary. I’m sure things will slip through. I am sure I will get in a hurry and get sloppy. But if I set a process, I know the results will be better. If I use one LLM to check the other, it will certainly result in more accurate data.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
