I admit I have this thing for searching YouTube and the Internets for young singing talent. It’s not like I sign them, I just like finding new talent. I stumbled on Paramore when listening to the original SIMS game and there was an awesome singer singing in “Simmerish”. I had to email the game people to find out it was a new band and that they had been signed to “sing” background music for the video game radio. Turned out to be Paramore and a year later they blew up. Last week I was so happy to Phoebe Bridgers singing “Gigantic” by the Pixies in the new Apple iPhone commercial. My wife and I found her on Soundcloud when we were just randomly following people’s new favorite singers earlier this year. I have to admit I lean toward the singers with the sweet young voices like “The Sundays” from the 90s. She’s got the cute blonde look and the great soft voice to match. I imagine when people learn who she is and as long as the Apple commercial keeps playing , she’s going to be on the radio quite a bit.
