Listed below are updates on the top ten domain sales from a year ago, as ranked by DN Journal.

1. LA.com sold for $1,200,000

Nothing says LA more than two girls sticking their tongue out and taking a selfie…..at least according to the ‘coming soon’ lander shown below. The domain was picked up by Tribune Publishing, now known as Tronc, which owns the LA Times. This domain is the traffic leader for the week, with its Alexa rank near 1.4 million.

2 (tie). Boardroom.com sold for $75,000

This domain was picked up by two old retired guys you may have heard of…..Michael Berkens and Rick Schwartz. The domain is currently parked, and I think I read they have an idea or two for development of the domain. If they decide to sell it, I’m sure it won’t be cheap……they were partnered up on Meet.me previously (along with Ammar Kubba) and picked that domain up for $6k, and then sold it for $450k. (“Retired” in their cases includes owning over 9,000 domains for Mr. Berkens, and 6,000 domains for Mr. Schwartz, per Whois records.)

2 (tie). Web.hosting sold for $75,000

This domain, and each of the seven domains below, are all either parked, don’t resolve, or have a simple under development lander.

4. S.club sold for $37,984

5. Internet.travel sold for $11,400

6 (tie). Mortgages.ae sold for $10,000

6 (tie). Uncle.co sold for $10,000

9. Companyon.com sold for $8,725

10 (tie). Clark.fr sold for $8,550

10 (tie). Hurghada.de sold for $8,550

8. JTrack.com sold for $9,888

This domain was an upgrade from JTrackNY.com, for the College Point, NY based company. “J-Track provides comprehensive track and transit system construction services, encompassing track, concrete, excavation, signal and power work — as well as design, general contracting, and construction management.”
