Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday, August 26th, 2022

I was fortunate enough to sell a Bored Ape and 2 Mutants at peak. I missed out on some coin and land but took in $750,000 on $2K investments so I did well. Of course I lost a few hundred thousand on other NFTs and gave much of it back but I went cash for the taxes and a large chunk of it. Now I am trying to put it to work yet leave it liquid if I see a really good investment. I have been looking at everything. I want it somewhat secure with a non fluctuating base. I looked at

1. Farmland: Completely illiquid and terrible yield. 3% if you’re lucky
2. Bond EFTs. HORRIBLE returns. Literally all but one losing money. Nope

House: I could buy it all cash and rent it out. 3.5% would be the yield at best. And I have to fix stuff and fix up the house itself. Definitely not liquid

I ended up putting it in Gemini Stablecoin Earn account. It yields 7.15%. Yes, the stable coin could collapse. Gemini could collapse. But of all the exchanges I feel more comfortable with Gemini than any other company. They do everything properly through the SEC. Have a ton of auditors. Have 10 billion in BTC (yes I know that’s the collapse part) and have made tens if not hundreds of millions in fees so they have cash too. I can take money out any time I want and have it ready to roll in days.

The crazy part of it all is that even my yields don’t make as much as my $wool income. I bought a crypto pouch that yields a little of the total amount every day over 4 years. I bought it at a discount and then the coin has gone up a little. I make $80K a year and have been all year in yield. Its not secure but its paid for itself more than once so no matter what I’ve made money although I have gotten used to the $200 or $300 a day coming into my account.

Obviously I’ll check in with the results. My Ford options were a dud. Didn’t lose or make much. There are alway obstacles you can’t see in investing but for the most part I’ve laid out what I do and its turned out pretty good so far. Even with all the bad choices.
