I’m in the market for a new car because my X5 is due for retirement. I am all over the board on what I want. I am torn between the “rich rancher” high end sport utility in the ML550, X5, Touareg range. At the same time I have picked out the classy sedans of M5 BMW , Audi S4, and Maserati Quattroportte. But I really would love a small little gas saver like a Chevy Volt, Honda Fit, or Ford Focus because I live 1.5 miles from work and I could go all year on 13 tanks of gas. Huge price differences and the little cars can’t haul my family around. I always buy used so I will probably do what I did last time and just buy two used cars and use each when I need them. The other two (X5 and Honda Accord) lasted 12 years so 6 years each, which isn’t too bad. But cars are the biggest waste of money so I’m not eager to buy anything.

I have a 2011 BMW 550I with M-sport package, gas mileage is good and I bought it used with about 8,000 miles and saved about $20K off a new one. The best drive ever, and has lots of power at least 400 Hp and the 2013 has 445 Hp,and it is almost as big as the 7 series. You should at least give it a test drive truly the best balance between sports car and a family sedan, good luck with your search, Jt

For not much less performance buy a 2001-2002 m5 with lower miles for 20k then get gas saver for 20k.
Better than 90k for new new m5.
I mean 0-60 will be faster but top end is going to be close.
I don’t have an m5 but sure would like to find an old one.
