DomainShane was closed yesterday and here are a few pictures why. You know I’m a guy that likes to make money so I’m always looking for things that fit in with what we already do at our businesses. One of the key requirements is it has to be something that everyone needs. Snow removal is something that every single business needs and they have no choice if they want customers to visit. People told me that if there was a lot of snow you could make good money. If not then you were going to lose money by the time you pay your people, buy the equipment, and cost out the damage and wear and tear on everything. The last two days were those days when you can do very well. -50 wind chill and 30 mph winds and blowing snow. Pretty much every thing was shut down except the supermarkets we plow (even they closed early yesterday for the first time in 20 years. They were packed today. Although the people that ventured out were idiotic, when they got to the store there was plenty of clear parking and even the cart returns were clear and open. And instead of sitting home watching the snow, I was out there making $XX,XXX as well as some good will of all the neighbors for plowing their driveways. Picture at the top is the highway a mile away. The Southern Illinois basketball team and 100 other semis were stranded because the roads were so bad. But I’m back and ready to get back to a different type of work. No rest for the wicked 🙂 Here are today’s names. And remember if you’d like to list your names in the Book of Ten for this Friday contact me for availability and cost.

Shane, why not get contracts with these businesses for ‘winter snow removal’. They pay you a flat fee for the winter months, so whether it snows or not, you get paid.
