The big news around the domain space was the sale of Escrow.com. Everyone seems surprised that it sold for $7.5 million. Only $7.5 million. None of know the financials and I don’t think there is any way the guy that owns the company would have taken anything but a good price considering the financials. But again, we don’t know anything because the books are private. It’s only speculation and opinion from this point on. But debt free, undoubtedly this would have been a heck of a deal at that sale price. Here are today’s names.

It is a natural fit for a company that can use escrow services. Freelancer can exponentially grow the business, this was a great purchase for that guy at a great price because the synergies are going to allow him to recoup that $7.5M in a relatively short timeframe.
Another article said Escrow.com earned $1.2M EBITDA so after taxes it’s bringing home under $1M a year for the owner. Seems like a pretty small figure for a market leader.
