Listed below are updates on the top 10 domain sales from a year ago, as ranked by DN Journal.
1. Cute.com sold for $230,000
- The domain is under privacy protection, but it redirects to PaulKocher.com, and states in part, “If you arrived here from somewhere else, please note that my domain names are not for sale.” We encountered the exact same scenario four months ago with the domain LK.com.
2. Koko.com sold for $100,440
- I can’t really tell what’s happening with this Chinese language site, other than it’s promoting some sort of download. It’s the traffic leader for the week, with an Alexa rank near 650,000.
3. DEC.com sold for $57,500
- Paul Kocher strikes again……the same lander as for Cute.com is live. Both domains were sold through Heritage Auctions. DEC.com is one of the 5 oldest domains on the net, with an Alexa rank near 13 million.
4. Cabs.com sold for $50,000
- You can see the placeholder below, but it’s not offering many cabs yet….at least when I did a quick search in the United States…..I could get a cab in Little Rock, Arkansas, but not in New York City. Alexa rank near 7 million.
5. Bristol.com sold for $40,250
- Domain #3 for Paul Kocher on this list, after Cute.com and DEC.com above.
6. FRR.com sold for $32,200
- Domain #4 for Paul Kocher this week….putting him near $350,000.
7. Answers.tv sold for $28,350
- The domain doesn’t resolve, but is owned by entity with an AnswersInGenesis.org email address. That site states, “Answers in Genesis is an apologetics ministry, dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively.”
8. SFD.com sold for $27,600
- Domain #5 for Paul Kocher this week, with all of the acquisitions coming through the Heritage Auctions event.
9. 100.org sold for $26,000
- “100% for 100%. Our goal is to make new clean energy more affordable and accessible for all. We help you imagine and do what’s possible. #100isNow” Alexa rank near 1.2 million.
10. CoolCompany.com sold for $25,000
- An upgrade from CoolCompany.se. “You work, make money and send invoices easily, safely and quickly through Cool Company. We take care of the paperwork, taxes and expenses. Open an account free-of-charge today!” Alexa rank near 1.9 million.
10. FreeATM.com sold for $25,000
- An upgrade from TheFreeATM.com. “We replaced fees with commercials. Let advertisers buy your next latte.” Alexa rank near 11.5 million.
