Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday November 22nd, 2017

Escrow.com

Looks like everyone wins.  Especially Godaddy.  Godaddy makes tens of millions of dollars from expired domains.  They love the free money.  What they don’t like is when people renew and they don’t get to keep the money on the sale of an expired domains. Rick Schwartz lost a name mid auction.  Godaddy lost the money Rick was going to pay for that domain.  Anyone that thinks Godaddy enjoys not getting money from you for an expired domain is not thinking logically.   You get upset, they lose money.  So they will do everything under the rules to try and snap the name the second they are allowed to and sell it.  Now its at 30 days.

Domain owners have less time than ever to remember to renew their domain.  Because its not about forgetting to renew, its about making money on the name and domain investors getting their domains.  Obviously I’m being sarcastic.  It’s supposed to be about renewals but because there is so much more money in selling them AND getting the renewals,  that changing the policy to get the most out of expired sales is the business model.  Make as much money as they can is the business model.  And I’m good with that.  Nothing wrong with making money as long as the registrant gets a fair shake at renewing his domain.  30 days is fair.

Next step is open auction. Paul Nicks says GD has no plans for bidder aliases which I think is a big mistake.  The coding would be simple.   I think the only reason it won’t be done is because we are going to see some bidding we don’t like.  I am merely guessing because when its dark you have to guess what’s in front of you. You expect the worse.  You only know the truth when somebody turns on the lights.  Time to turn on the lights.  Here are today’s domains. Click for current price

Quote of the Day:  “We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions”  -Ronald Regan

Domain of the Day:  PLYW.com     Since a CHiP the price starts at $1000 and goes up if someone sees a Western use.  At $500 at press time

Namejet and Sedo Names at Auction

C538.com    The Chinese are still buying these with the right numbers and letter combos

Divisor.com   Has ten bids and closes today.   I assume its going to be a brand.  I know the word but can’t say I’ve ever used it

FICX.com  At $40.  13 years old   X is often a placeholder so companies with FIC acronym are also possible suitors

OWRS.com     At $150 but has met reserve so it will sell

AEXI.com  No bidders at $1 on this one.  19 years old

GQOT.com  No bidders on this one as well.   Great Quilts of Thailand  but I imagine there is a much better acronym waiting

CBM.net  One of the few LLL.net that I would actually buy.  Top Tier letters

RWMC.com   This will be a good name to see exactly how much the best LLLL.coms are selling for

SmartClimate.com    Climate change is a top topic right now.  The doesn’t hurt value

Protec.com   1989 original registration.  Pretty damn old

WeDontRentPig.com    What?  No pigs?  Looks like I am going to have to go the house goat route

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

Wetness.com  35 bidders.  Biggest price on the board today

MYOR.com  Good acronym letters. All depends on the reserve

GameDot.com   A little harder to read out loud with the double dot thing but Game Dot itself is a nice brand and easy logo

Fabim.com  5L .com under $70 at press time

AlwaysFree.com  Free as in cost or free as in ability to do what you want

Jaeckle.com   Trying to see why anyone would want this other than the age.  Turns out its a last name and last names will always be names of businesses. People like to name things after themselves

Surfino.com   Can’t really find a translation but I see surfing when I see it and I bet others do as well

LiteCoinPrices.com  Crypto name.  Good as gold.  Or should I say, good as Bitcoin

88467.com    Double 8 and a 5N.com   I would guess 900ish

Tykoon.com   It’s cool because it has a K

BadMarketing.com   The difference is you are up front with what you are going to deliver.  Or a site that showcases bad marketing

TheArtOfKindness.com   I haven’t mastered it yet

Godaddy Names With One or No Bids

FluShot.org  Makes it sound official with the dot org

FishRocket.com 1998 birthday.  Get two popular naming words together for one low price.  No bidders

LetsMasterbate.com  Going to have to outbid Louis C.K. for this one

TheTrainingTeam.com  I like this one a lot of $12.  Lots of training teams out there with much worse domains

TheStabilizer.com  Save tens of thousands by adding the “the” and you still have a good name

HalfTheTruth.com  What we get half the time

HikingLog.com  Online travel journal for hikers

BetterLivingTips.com  Not a ton of value but a good site name for life hacks and info

DirtyBelly.com  At least its memorable.  No bids

29CC.com   The double CC should garner a bid or two

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me Shane, or Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
