Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday August 9th, 2019

One of the down side of buying names at auctions is having them land or be at various registrars around the net. It should be pretty simple to keep track of them. A spreadsheet or a manager like Efty can keep your portfolio management up to date. Of course you actually have to put them in. I won’t go into details but we all know some registrars are better than others. And a few absolutely gouge customers with dot com renewals of $30 or more. Those are the registrars you set a calendar to remind you to get them out. The others you just set auto renew and keep the credit card up to date. All sounds simple but I still seem to forget a few domains. You would think that if I spend a few thousand dollars on a name I would manage it properly. But I don’t

I had a credit card compromised while on vacation and had to be issued a new card. I only use it for domain investing and special purchases. So when it had to be changed it meant I pretty much had to change every registrars on hand card. When it came time to renew some domains recently the registrars emailed and said they had a problem. And low and behold a few registrars and names I forgot about popped up. I was embarrassed and excited. How could I forget about that name and Wow! I forgot I bought that name and now I can push it over to Godaddy with the balance of my names. Like found money. Money that was always yours but you left it in a sportcoat you hadn’t worn in two years but there was $100 bill in the pocket. But in this case two, $2000 bills. And yes, I started going through every registrar I’ve ever used to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I don’t like found money

Domain of the Day: I like this type of brand. Short, double consonants with a Y or a vowel at the end.

Quote of the Day: My father had taught me to be nice first, because you can always be mean later, but once you’ve been mean to someone, they won’t believe the nice anymore. So be nice, be nice, until it’s time to stop being nice, then destroy them.” –Laurell K. Hamilton

Namejet, Sedo, Snap, and other Names Up for Auction I think this hits five figures Nice but will probably have to say Silky with a T A famous play but no reason it can’t be a famous brand Worst Daycare name EVER Be a fanboy and try and use the name to converse with Elon Musk. Or trade a Tesla for it Worse fashion line name EVER Nice 5L with no bids. I mean 13 bids Like this one. Yeah, yeah, doesn’t pass the radio test You’re going to great with this one. You’re going to kill it Yesterday I listed the .UK that I thought would do the best. I was perfect. Except for this one. Just not a term we use that often here in the colonies OK I lied. I missed a few. I really had no idea what this was without looking it up. It’s glamorous camping or luxury camping. Serious, and its a big deal This one found a home LLL.coms have gone for discounted prices at Sedo IMO this last year. Travis and I found some fair prices this summer The $2000 bid will go higher IMO I might be biased but I like Bloom names Here I go again

Godaddy Domains With Multiple Bids Most bids on the Godaddy board today. All to have a name that hopes to capitalize on the government health program I’ve always heard it as Mind Body and Soul but nobody seems to care 17 years old. Can see this on TV already Might be my favorite on the list. So many people say they offer this. Great letters. Get past the Mac part. Won’t be Apple stuff, just an acronym Already an edible water balloon. You read that right. A water bottle you can eat. Gay fashion line all the way Sounds like a casino Worth a few dollars Cute little 5L that’s pronounceable. Under $100 at press time
