Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday August 8th, 2019

I was looking through some of my sales history and saw I had bought and sold quite a few over the last 10 years. What hasn’t changed much are the prices. They certainly have moved up in down but if you look below at the prices from 2009 when I first wrote about them, you’ll see some are cheap compared to now, but some were pretty expensive considering the time value of money over 10 years. Of all the categories in domain investing, this one definitely wasn’t towards the top of returns. A good store of value, but not near the numerics or one word returns. Of course all this is hind site but in hind site I think I did well selling my CVCV, some for five figures and putting the money to work. One of the few categories I can say I sold at the right time. $1500 Sedo $3,100.00 11/30/2009 Sedo $1,300.00 11/26/2009 Sedo $5,900.00 11/26/2009 Sedo $2,622.00 11/26/2009 Sedo $494.00 11/22/2009 Sedo $1,801.00 11/19/2009 Sedo $4,505.00 11/19/2009 Sedo $3,110.00 11/19/2009 Sedo $352.00 11/16/2009 Sedo $927.00 11/10/2009 Sedo $39.00 11/8/2009 TDNAM $1,034.00 11/8/2009 NameJet $299.00 11/6/2009 Sedo $231.00 11/4/2009 TDNAM $1,211.00 11/3/2009 NameJet $192.00 11/2/2009 TDNAM $1,300.00 10/26/2009 Sedo $5,205.00 10/22/2009 Sedo

Domain of the Day: Everyone thinks WheelsUp here. The biggest player in the Private Jet market. Or at least one of the best known

Quote of the Day: If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you’re misinformed.” – Mark Twain

Namejet, Sedo, Snap, and other Names Up for Auction It’s hard to figure out which .uks are going to do the best. 75% of what I thought would do well did and the rest surprised. Maybe I’ll do better on this second round of Sedo’s UK auction I would think the two letters have to have good value No limits Easy buildout here. Best selling books, albums in the UK. And not easy in making the site. Easy in knowing what to put on it It’s where the money’s at. That and Love Good acronym. Reasonable reserve High bidder was Uniregistry but someone else wants it more I believe this one has come up before. 1995 birthday Nice little 5L with no reserve and over 20 years old A popular girls name even with a dot org has good value IMO

Godaddy Domains With Multiple Bids All the bids are for the history and backlinks. 350,000 of them. But that’s why the price is so frickin high Some of the most expensive hotel rooms in the world. Doing well as expected. Godaddy values it at $14K I’d rather have City Club but bidders are still bidding Another City name if you’re collecting them right now A bit long but nice outdoors name A lot of people study for this. Sell them a guide There are quite a few dot nets on today’s list like this one. In the dot com it would be a killer name but with the dot net its worth a few dollars but nothing crazy and Here are a few more Sounds like an 80s fashion magazine Good. I was so tired of paying for thoughts Where people go to get faster An agent that is licensed Fresh as a vegetable sweet as a fruit I think this is a good analysis or advisory company name versatile name. The first or the best Where artist connect. I guess that is pretty obvious Hundreds of millions of sites built on WordPress. Actually made that number up but a lot Northeast or New England A little better than your normal agency If you offer any form of verification you should want this as a redirect or marketing name VPN or anonymizing service name A terrible spelling of Cluck
