Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday September 13th, 2019

As most of you know part of my job on Domain Sherpa is to analyze names. Some are at auction some have been part of portfolios. My opinions are my opinions only. They are based on 10 years of my results and watching results from some of the best domain investors in the world. There are obviously other ways to skin the proverbial profit cat in domain investing. But some have a much higher percentage chance than others. I stick to the higher chance. I absolutely won’t criticize people for wasting their money. We’ve all done it. You have to go off the path some times to try and make a higher return. But domain investing is not it. There is plenty of opportunity in the dot com and a few other tlds like .io. I am sure that there are those that have sold some names in other extensions. I also know that they will be loud. They will be shown as comps. And they will be rare. I will ONLY criticize you if you try and throw reasons why you bought a crazy extension. The only reason that is acceptable is you were looking for more risk reward. That works. But “its hot” or “this name sold for X” is you convincing yourself why you bought it, not a good reason for someone else to put money in. You can buy worthless .us, .cx, .raingauge, that’s fine. But lets not make the investment any more than it is.

Domain of the Day: I admit I love this one. Unfortunately based on the recent sales prices at Godaddy, this could hit five figures

Quote of the Day: If you try and take a cat apart to see how it works, the first thing you have on your hands is a non-working cat.” ― Douglas Adams

Namejet, Sedo, Snap, and other Names Up for Auction Met reserve under $100. They always tell you how there are billions of dollars to be made in high margin razors. That’s because there is. All marketing 22 year old adult name that sold for over $40K back in the day. Now up for sale again

Bookings.Global I think this is one of the few names that has a chance to sell No bidders. Fails and passes the radio test. 17 years old Nice to see forex names still sell If the reserve is closer to $1000 it is worth it IMO lovely name for under $100 at press time Under $100 is a pretty good price for a new production company name High end audio will always be in demand Green anything is hot right now. Click names for latest prices and to pay for our efforts These are the type of names that have been doing really well for me. Easy to spell and easy logo A business all to itself. I own one and pretty much every construction company If Porsche can use the word Turbo for an electric vehicle you can use it to mean better cable Vaping is facing a little headway right now but its not going away Not sure how you make money with this one but I’m sure there are people that issue them and people with info on them that could use it I see Drupal when I see this but not everyone knows Drupal So fresh and so clean clean Huge business. Every cannabis dispensary and grower needs next level security The mortgage business is so bit it makes this name instantly one of the most valuable As the owner of this name you can be Mr. America and be ugly as sin Can you imagine how much this would have sold for 10-15 years ago. What we try and teach our kids to make. So that means the term is pretty important one of the better product domains and affiliate potential names from the past week Nobody likes the word cheap but a few bidders do so I take that back I see this as a name for a concrete, driveway slab lifting company. Ours locally is called Jack a Slab A Chinese name, thus the high price Millions of them all over the world. Not just in Ireland. Strong tech site name. Says exactly what the site is for Didn’t actually realize you could get a grant for a home and looked it up. Hundreds of thousands of people get help buying a home where that came from great letters. I for International goes great with a dot org I sell it but it would make a good brand as well Good marketing name although its been done. Remember “Tastes Great….Less Filling” Miller commercials? Generally refers to unfinished furniture although naked people are good for business too A brand site would take this one I heard they love company Sell single shares of stock

  1. I can relate to the one part you mentioned. I often find myself getting caught up on what the domain name sold for previously. Many times that was 10+ years ago though.

By the way Viddy has all those bids because of the history. Back in the day it was supposed to be instagram of video before instagram ever even had video.
