Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday September 13th, 2019

Escrow.com

As most of you know part of my job on Domain Sherpa is to analyze names. Some are at auction some have been part of portfolios. My opinions are my opinions only. They are based on 10 years of my results and watching results from some of the best domain investors in the world. There are obviously other ways to skin the proverbial profit cat in domain investing. But some have a much higher percentage chance than others. I stick to the higher chance. I absolutely won’t criticize people for wasting their money. We’ve all done it. You have to go off the path some times to try and make a higher return. But domain investing is not it. There is plenty of opportunity in the dot com and a few other tlds like .io. I am sure that there are those that have sold some names in other extensions. I also know that they will be loud. They will be shown as comps. And they will be rare. I will ONLY criticize you if you try and throw reasons why you bought a crazy extension. The only reason that is acceptable is you were looking for more risk reward. That works. But “its hot” or “this name sold for X” is you convincing yourself why you bought it, not a good reason for someone else to put money in. You can buy worthless .us, .cx, .raingauge, that’s fine. But lets not make the investment any more than it is.

Domain of the Day: Viddy.com I admit I love this one. Unfortunately based on the recent sales prices at Godaddy, this could hit five figures

If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

  1. I can relate to the one part you mentioned. I often find myself getting caught up on what the domain name sold for previously. Many times that was 10+ years ago though.

By the way Viddy has all those bids because of the history. Back in the day it was supposed to be instagram of video before instagram ever even had video.
