I’ve finally decided to get out of domains and focus my energies and monies in a new area.  High priced, collectible chickens.  My first crop of Ayam Cemanis have come in and I’m gonna make bank.

Of course I’m kidding but I would be lying if I didn’t start thinking about breeding these things.   Rare chickens are the hot collectible for the new young rich kids and are the real life version of Crypto Kitties.   Except these kitties can lay very expensive eggs.  Gives you a rare chance to eat a $1500 omelet.

In my opinion I like the Orpinton chickens.  Lay almost an egg a day, pretty, and tasty.  And if you’re going to let them run all over then you’ll want a Olandsk Dwarf.   What I’m not kidding about is the price of these things.  They cost hundreds to thousands of dollars.   I’ve had weasels break into the chicken coup and tear the heads off every chicken and drink their blood.  If it got into these it would be a $10,000 slaughter.  It’s why I prefer $10 laying hens that are easier to find than a straw at Starbucks.  Every farm store has them sitting out to pick up like ice cream.   But I love the thought of selling $300 eggs.  So I joked in the beginning but I’ve thought about it twice.  If I get to 5 I’m buying a few expensive chickens.  Here are today’s names. Click through to see the current price
