Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday August 26th, 2020

I’ve been touching base with a lot of the people I worked with in 2007-2009 when I was working on WallStreetFighter. I’m working on a new project that isn’t domain related and getting some advice and calling in a few favors. Nothing like calling in a favor 12 years later but we all helped each other get going and there’s a bond there that won’t be forgotten. We were all trying to figure out this Web thing and how we could monetize it. Pretty much every single person I worked with has gone on to great things. You know one of them Mike Carson.

Mike Carson was known as Ugly Mike and was a chartist and trader that built code and data mappers that would help others see trends and opportunity. Funny how we ended up in the same industry

There were others like Fred Wilson, Howard Lindzon, Brian Shannon, Mark Pincus, that all ran in the same circles and helped each other along the way. There’s a lot of money in those circles. I met a ton of other site creators that had a ton of different sites from, WebUrbanist, to MentalFloss, to the crazy but wildly successful in its day You laugh but hundreds of thousands if not millions were made with that site. Almost every single one of us were bought out at some point. Because our traffic was big and we represented the new web in those days.

So I emailed, texted, or DMed a lot of those guys just to catch up. Some no answer, some said who? But I caught up with a few and I’m going to share those stories. They’re not domain related but they are good stories, or at least I think they will be. I love domain stories but we’ve pretty much covered it. Time to go outside a little and have some fun.

Quote of the Day: “The hardest thing in life to learn is which bridge to cross and which to burn” -David Russell

Domains of the Day: Exudes getting better. Upgrade name for dozens of companies. X can mean anything. That’s why so many companies put it at the end of the names Names at Auction or Available for Pickup Not many extensions left where you can buy 3D The Internet loves Greek Gods Just seems like the kind of name a startup would go with. The dot com is available . Dot com is still available “More” in Spanish and Lord knows we all need more Don’t see many dot io with 2012 birthdays

Namejet and Sedo & More Domains at Action Checks the boxes. Ends in C. Good Letters. Registered in 31 extensions which is on the high side The plus gives it the “we do other things too” bonus Since we’re doing X names now A lot of 15-18 year old guys would love to visit this place. Boobs are tough to cancel The phone put everything in our pocket. 1999 birthday Sounds like a grammerly type name 5L that looks like video exudes voice. 9 bidders Love this one. Because showing someone a square plastic ID will soon disappear Another 5L with just a few bidders Timely name. And judging by the bids, Germans speak English when it comes to fitness

Godaddy Domains With Bids What Tik Tok kind of was. It’s evolved but it all started with little dance videos Not the term commercial people want used, but taken in 57 extensions so still a term a lot of people use Top price on the board today. Remote anything is killing it lately. Before you go and register all remote names, not literally anything Has the most bids on the Godaddy board today. There’s a relatively big company on the dot co. That’s all I got for this one. Does have a little bit of an Alexa score and 11 extensions taken Great name for a kids cooking site We’re still allowed to use the word man right? I know you can’t on Facebook. Any description of a job that has man or men at the end won’t be accepted I had no idea this was a dictionary word. Means having to do with anything family related Some people won’t be happy with this site The back end of a betting sites? Gambling name either way I guess you can make a verb out of it If it doesn’t have value now it never will I would be 99% of the people I asked to pronounce this would say KWAY and that’s a good thing Decent 5L for the price The juice. Lots and lots of juice exudes something right there if you need it Signature is such a popular word in naming that its almost become generic. But that’s good if you’re trying to sell a domain with Signature in it. Means more people want it Travel all the way. Probably won’t be fresher than anywhere else Ahh the original Bitcoin. Had to earn them by working hard and then could trade them for things I’m long on any sleeping tool name right now. People are paying big bucks for anything to help them sleep better Sounds like a spa or hair salon right out of the box

DomainPod.comb You domain investors might like it Means nothing to me but taken in 18 extensions so being used by somebody

Godaddy Names With One or NO Bid

  1. Dear friends, any one can see the recent BrandBucket listed domains, with HTTPS:// ?

I checked many times, Brand Bucket domains NOT working with https://

Specially new listings NOT working with https://

    1. Thanks for the examples. I saw the cert errors on a couple of the names and was about to report it via the BB Slack channel, but now the names are all working for me. Can you try again? If they are still giving you a problem, you should email BB support, and I’ll post it to their Slack channel.

  2. We sent them email but they dont understand the issue. They say everything is ok.
But it is not ok. We checked many times with different devices and and ips, it is giving same error. Our 2 months ago listed domains working fine.
But recently listed all BrandBucket domains giving same error.
My friend and me checked and many of them not displaying with HTTPS://
If you using this https:// in front of the domain, (new listed domains) it is giving the privacy error.
New listed domains all giving same error.
If you understand this issue, please explain them and report them please.
For example, this domain not loading without https://

    1. Confirmed – I’ve sent them a message via their Slack channel, and I’ll continue to follow up with them there.
