Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday August 26th, 2020

I’ve been touching base with a lot of the people I worked with in 2007-2009 when I was working on WallStreetFighter. I’m working on a new project that isn’t domain related and getting some advice and calling in a few favors. Nothing like calling in a favor 12 years later but we all helped each other get going and there’s a bond there that won’t be forgotten. We were all trying to figure out this Web thing and how we could monetize it. Pretty much every single person I worked with has gone on to great things. You know one of them Mike Carson.

Mike Carson was known as Ugly Mike and was a chartist and trader that built code and data mappers that would help others see trends and opportunity. Funny how we ended up in the same industry

There were others like Fred Wilson, Howard Lindzon, Brian Shannon, Mark Pincus, that all ran in the same circles and helped each other along the way. There’s a lot of money in those circles. I met a ton of other site creators that had a ton of different sites from WWTTD.com, WebUrbanist, to MentalFloss, to the crazy but wildly successful in its day HotChicksWithDouchebags.com You laugh but hundreds of thousands if not millions were made with that site. Almost every single one of us were bought out at some point. Because our traffic was big and we represented the new web in those days.

So I emailed, texted, or DMed a lot of those guys just to catch up. Some no answer, some said who? But I caught up with a few and I’m going to share those stories. They’re not domain related but they are good stories, or at least I think they will be. I love domain stories but we’ve pretty much covered it. Time to go outside a little and have some fun.

Quote of the Day: “The hardest thing in life to learn is which bridge to cross and which to burn” -David Russell

LittleChefs.com Great name for a kids cooking site

KetoMan.com We’re still allowed to use the word man right? I know you can’t on Facebook. Any description of a job that has man or men at the end won’t be accepted

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

    1. @Luc Its definitely not crypto. Not my game. I have money in it but I definitely don’t have the knowledge to be talking and debating it.

  1. Dear friends, any one can see the recent BrandBucket listed domains, with HTTPS:// ?

I checked many times, Brand Bucket domains NOT working with https://

Specially new listings NOT working with https://

    1. Thanks for the examples. I saw the cert errors on a couple of the names and was about to report it via the BB Slack channel, but now the names are all working for me. Can you try again? If they are still giving you a problem, you should email BB support, and I’ll post it to their Slack channel.

  2. We sent them email but they dont understand the issue. They say everything is ok.
But it is not ok. We checked many times with different devices and and ips, it is giving same error. Our 2 months ago listed domains working fine.
But recently listed all BrandBucket domains giving same error.
My friend and me checked and many of them not displaying with HTTPS://
If you using this https:// in front of the domain, (new listed domains) it is giving the privacy error.
New listed domains all giving same error.
If you understand this issue, please explain them and report them please.
For example, this domain Houseinvestor.com not loading without https://

    1. Confirmed – I’ve sent them a message via their Slack channel, and I’ll continue to follow up with them there.

    2. BB confirmed that they are aware of the issue and that their engineers are working on it. Best I can do.
