I mentioned on Twitter the other day that I’ve purchased a few names this week. I bought Beehouse (com) at Namejet auctions and Beehouse (net) the same day at Dynadot auctions. And then registered BeehouseHoney (com) at Godaddy. I am starting a new line of honey and was looking for a good brand and when this came up it was exactly what I was looking for. I would have liked to get it cheaper but there were a few others that seemed to want it as well and bid it up. I had sold a few bee and honey names and had some cash in the bank to spend on another good brand. I think I paid in between wholesale and end user and considering I hope to be an enduser I think I did well. I didn’t plan on buying the dot net but I was checking to see what other forms of the name were being used for and happen to see that it had sold for $800 in the past but just happened to be at auction at Dynadot and nobody was bidding. So I bought it for $14. All in all I think I have a nice package.
I also bought SolarHomes.com A domain friend had it for sale and as you know I love solar names. I have sold a few and get quite a few bids on IslandSolar.com that gave me confidence that this is the next level up on quality. My island solar offers have been more than I paid so I know I have a long term winner.
The great part about all this is I paid under $400 for MyBees.com. I sold it and bought all the names above with thousands left over. So I essentially paid $400 for the names. I know that’s not a proper way to look at it but it makes me feel special so let me have my moment 🙂
