DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Saturday, August 29th 2015

Escrow.com
A good mix of domains today included a few good drone names. With every auction filled with LLLL.coms it seems like there are less one and two word keyword names available.  But guess what?  That’s exactly why dot coms will become more and more valuable.  Because there are less and less for sale.  And while I read that Godaddy and Namejet’s sales results aren’t correct I say “don’t read them or don’t buy from Godaddy”  I’m a smart enough person to know that if people thought a domain was for sale and bid it to a price YET the name didn’t actually sell, it still represents the value of the auction.  The action and the auctions were performed as if they were going to go through.  Therefore it represents a real value.  Whether or not real money exchanged hands doesn’t matter to me since I’m only using it as a GUIDE.   And if you think DnJournal prices listed are all real and all cash, you are wrong.  I can name a handful that never went through.  Were numbers given to create interest for the new owner but that money never actually changed hands.  Names that were defaulted on and given back to the owner.   In short, we need comps and a Godaddy auction that goes from start to end is a pretty good comp of what that domain would go for on that day at auction.  And I’m in the mountains today so I may or may not be a able to approve comments for the next 36 hours.  Also looking for a few names for my list next week if anyone is interested in promoting an auction.   Here is today’s list.

OverTheWeb.com   How the world works now. 18 years old.  One bidder at $12

SeattleWash.com  I admit I was thinking car washes in Seattle and then Google reminded me of that Washington state thing. 17 years old

SuperBaby.com  Getting a ton of bids and a good price.  People love their pets and their babies

BurnSafe.com   You may have one and not know it.  Its a safe that is fire proof.   Under $50 and 106 million results on Google

NoMoreExcuses.com  I am a bidder (or will be)  Great mantra or slogan for many different types of businesses

ImproveYourMarriage.com   Pay me $5 and I’ll send you a text that says “Keep the fights clean and the sex dirty”  It’ll work. No bidders

GLawyer.com    Better than G.lawyer and a whole lot cheaper

Find.info  One of the better dot info in the last few months.  Pretty broad buildout though

WXZR.com  Shitty scrabble letters so of course 4 figures

3171.cc  As I mentioned yesterday.  Keep watching quality NNNN.cc names.  They keep inching up

7131.cc  One more to watch

MDG.cc  While I have you, might as well take a look at the price on these non vowel, non v LLL.cc

Bogeyman.com  Some see a scary man that comes out at night.  I see a guy that shoots one over on every hole

New GODADDY COUPON CODE: None Work, None. Click the link to See that None of them Work Godaddy Click This For No Savings

Wages.com   Great name.  All depends on the reserve but name sure is nice

DronesToday.com  The big kicker here is the site has been approved by a large drone manufacturer as an affiliate

FlatTire.com I bid on this a while.  I really liked it but couldn’t agree on price from seller. Maybe he’ll get his bid this time

Drone.parts  If you believe in .parts then you certainly have to like this one.  A few bids

Averted.com  Over four figures.  Put some pretty high comps so reserve might be as well

Twenth.com  Interesting website that lets users use more than the 140 characters on twitter.  Lots of these sites out there but this one seems to be growing

36767.com  This one soared past $1100

PWHM.com   A few good LLLL.coms in this special auction but not sure why they needed a whole section for just 6 names

SEDO’s Live Auctions Going on Now

Westland.com  20 years old and countless things with this name.  Its all about possible buyers and this one has lots of them

TDomain.com  This is probably the best crowd to push this one.  17 years old

Chilvary.com  Been told it didn’t exist yet here it is up for sale

VMVV.com  Throw in an M and save $100K

s5y.com  I haven’t talked about the LNL.coms lately but they still go for an average of $250 on Godaddy

  1. Shane, I’ve sold 5 NNNL.com’s in the last 2 weeks, have you seen anything pointing to these taking off, or is this a fluke. I hand registered a few about a year ago let some drop, renewed a few, buy only ever sold 2 until recently. Low sales prices $100-$300 each.
