Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday, December 16th, 2022

In bit of a rush so I’ll share what I wrote in one of my newsletters the other day.

For over a decade I’ve thought about writing a book. I feel like I’ve had a pretty eventful life in my first 50 years. It’s been so eventful, I have to bring my wife to events just to confirm my stories are true. I went to a friend’s birthday party this past weekend and by the end of the night people were like, “you have to be kidding, you also worked in the backstretch of a large horse racing track while you were trading at the Chicago Options Exchange while working as a doorman at the busiest bar in Chicago?” Wife just shakes her head up and down…Yes. I haven’t done it all but I’ve done a few things. I also paid attention and it left my mind with great memories and stories worth sharing. Here are 10 stories that will be part of the book

  1. I build a giant web out of thread between my neighbors two trees and sprayed it with glue so it looked like the morning mist and there was the world’s largest spider lived in their yard
  2. In NC I would build forts in the the neighborhood woods and the other kids would destroy them when I was gone so I decided to to dig a hole and cover the top to make an underground fort. Only to discover a 50 year old trash dump where I uncovered rare cone top beer cans and other collectibles and sold them for a lot of money at 12
  3. I was a professional pencil fighter for a year in grade school
  4. I got spanked by the Principal at my Jr High with a paddle really hard for running to the cafeteria to be first in line for pizza. That night at a soccer game I pulled my hamstring. The next day at school I could barely walk and the school administrators thought it was from the paddling and treated me like a king for a week to keep from getting in school and it ended paddling
  5. As the doorman above at the bar I was in charge of watching the pool table to make nobody fought over games and making sure nobody snuck in back door. Except the line for the bar went around the block all the way to the back door. On cold Chicago nights they would do anything to not wait in line. Even pay $20 to come in the back door. I made an extra $500 to $1000 most Saturday nights. Owner caught me and told me I could keep doing it but I had to give him 20%
  6. I worked for blind piano tuner moving pianos that were rented for events. Cliche having a blind piano tuner but he was and I did work for him. To this day when I walk through a door I analyze it to see if I could get a baby grand through it and how many turns there are to the big room
  7. I bred gerbils to see if I could get crazy looking colors. I had 30 pairs breeding at peak. I had the breeding turn around time to nothing and then a disease wiped out my facilities. Mom kept one in the freezer to have it tested at the vet but my Dad through it out thinking I put it in there as a joke
  8. Me and my friends used to play tag with our cars when we were 16. You would tap the other person with the nose of your car and then it was their turn to chase you. Completely unsafe and dangerous and also why I’m a pretty strong driver.
  9. I spent an entire summer at the pool trying to perfect a one and a half flip to impress a girl. I worked on it every single day all summer long because my friend could do one and the girls all paid attention to him. Figured out later that it might not have been because of his flip but because he looked like a young Brad Pitt
  10. We build a 3 story water slide at my fraternity that started out the window of the pool room. Only to have one of the first girls fall off the left side of the slide because the slide went to the right. Yeah, she sued and we used the slide all night but it was the last water slide ever built

I wrote these 10 in 5 minutes. I have 400 more stories ready and waiting. If I wrote a book of these stories would you read it? If yes email me at [email protected] and let me know. 5 people email and I start writing.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
