Domain Spotlight:

Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday, October 12th, 2022

I’ve been back buying domains again after a little hiatus. I was fortunate enough to put my ape sale into stable coin so I didn’t lose very much in the recent crash unless you count the huge decrease in NFTs. That was a huge hit but will keep my taxes down to a nice reasonable level this year. I have seen some good value pass through in the 10K to 50K range of names so I figure I will put some of that cash to work. I have a minimum amount I want to keep in the bank but the rest of that is getting spent on more assets. Yielding assets. I know most people need 2 domains to pay for the 100 but I am looking at this as I need this domain to sell in the next 5 years for double or more. That’s 20% a year. I am not going to buy domains that I don’t think will sell fairly quickly. I also want domains that if I were to offer them to another domain investor they would give me pretty close to what I paid. If you see me buying brandables it means I thought it was a great price for what I was getting. In short, I’m taking a little more calculated approach to acquisitions but greatly increasing my expenditures to keep my portfolio at the same level of quality or better when the year ends.

On a bright note, my knee has recovered amazingly. I’ve hit the gym and workouts pretty heavily to help rehab. For meniscus tears the workouts are almost exactly the same for hamstring tears. Which I experienced many years ago playing soccer at DomainFest. That was 6 months of grueling rehab. Hamstrings participate in pretty much every movement of the leg and when its a harsh tear it just takes time. This turned out to be weeks. I am not going to run much on it to help build it back but I am running about 3 miles a day which is back to the gym and back. Despite working a physical job for a living I was amazed at how weak I was. No strength at all. Because of that, I’ve started concentrating on my core, arms, and chest workouts. The biggest problem is my shoulders are destroyed from working at the nursery for 30 years. Every bench press hurts. Every push-up. So I am starting to rehab those and get them X-Rayed to see what we’re looking at. If I heal those and hit the gym for 6 months I think I can run 2:55 marathon and hit a strong Half Ironman. I know my body has transformed in 3 weeks. You would think running would keep you thin but add in weightlifting and while my hairline looks 55 my body has stayed pretty fit for my age. Not for lack of work and definitely not pain-free……yet

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
