People are naive and predictable. That’s not an insult. It’s just the truth.
Making money and influencing others is child’s play if you understand human nature. News and social media figured it out a long time ago. Put out something that looks like data, make it say exactly what people want to hear or the complete opposite, and watch it spread like wildfire.
My two most popular Instagram posts? Both were mistakes on purpose. In one, I posted a 5K time and said it was a 10K. Then I added a video of an attractive runner. It has over 10 million views. Runners knew the time couldn’t be right. It would have been a huge world record and the comments exploded. It wasn’t facts that got attention. It was the reaction and the lack of facts.
That’s where information is now. Not logic. Not truth. Just emotional response.
Well-written articles barely exist anymore. Real research only shows up when there’s a murder involved. People want buzz and drama. I’m not saying it’s sad. Good writing still exists if you know where to look. And honestly, storytelling might be at its peak. There’s more great TV and stories than ever. Yes, most of it is junk, but with 100 times the content, the good stuff is buried in there.
Until now, I didn’t want to prey on the gullible. But maybe it’s time to use what I’ve got. Wit, creativity, and some intelligence. I’ve always been able to sway people. Not with lies, but with a nudge. A word or phrase that sparks curiosity. I’ve always been a decent storyteller. There’s a way to guide a reader or listener. That hasn’t changed in thousands of years. It’s why I’m good at parties. I know what people want to hear and what they don’t. Content and timing is everything.
Speaking of timing, I know that around lunch, most working women check their email and scroll TikTok. So if I’m sending content, I want it to hit during that window. Locally, that’s 12:15 to 12:30. Perfect time for a discount or something interesting. The big media companies know this too. They use their data to push buttons.
I’m not saying people are dumb. I’m saying they’re human. And humans are predictable.
Next time you read a news story or see a viral post, don’t focus on your opinion. Ask yourself why it was posted. What effect were they aiming for? Once you start thinking that way, you’ll see the game.
A fun game. But a game.
Quote of the Day: “The media’s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power.” – Malcolm X

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
