Shane’s List of Domains at Auction for Friday, June 20th

My wife saw a study that said 55% of people in the US don’t read one full book a year. She realized she read all day but hadn’t read a book in probably a decade. So she does what she always does. She realizes she needs to read more and opens the Library Card back up. She realizes that most of the books are “ordered” way ahead of time. Like 50 weeks ahead. Evidently the 45% of people who are reading, read the F out of books.

She she does a little homework about favorite books and bulk checks the titles. She has been flying through one a week. She’s so busy and always moving so I’m not exactly sure where she’s squeezing them in but she pretty much took out her hour a day of TV she was watching and reads before she goes to sleep. Probably an hour. 2 hours a day adds up and she has loved reading. She has been reading fiction and first-person perspective storytelling. Her latest book The Tattooist of Auschwitz was her favorite yet. Its a hard read because of the atrocities, but perhaps is the best account ever told of what went on in the concentration camps. I was about to read the bood but then we saw Peacock has made it into a movie.

It’s horrific, amazing, and had me shaking my head, even crying. It is a must-watch series. It’s hard, but everyone must remember how horrible it was. The worst event in modern human history. If you get the chance to read the book or watch the series you should.

If you have a great book I’d love to hear it. She and I are always looking for good books
