Shane’s List of Domains at Auction for Monday, April 21st, 2025

I hope everyone had a great Sunday and a meaningful Easter. One of the best parts of building Beehouse Honey has been the constant learning—figuring out packaging, marketing, and delivery. It’s been a steady evolution, always aiming to improve both the product and the presentation.

Labeling and packaging are everything. It’s truly an art—and one I’ve had to learn over time. I’ve changed my packaging more times than I can count, but it’s definitely gotten better. I started with glass jars, which looked great, but people found them messy and hard to use. So I switched to a sleek squeeze bottle, which made application easier, but reheating crystallized honey in plastic didn’t sit right with me. Now I’m rolling out a one-pound sauce-style bottle that strikes a balance—easy to use and better for warming up. The only catch is finding a supplier who doesn’t require 5,000-bottle minimums.

Delivery is another challenge. How do you ship something safely and affordably? A $15 bottle of honey with $10 shipping just doesn’t work. Then there’s the honey itself—sourcing unique, pesticide-free varieties in bulk has taken travel, calls, and lots of taste-testing.

Marketing? I’ve done none. I didn’t want to promote anything until I had reliable suppliers, perfected packaging, and enough inventory to meet demand. Still, I’ve sold everything I’ve made—and often sold out.

I think Beehouse Honey can scale into something much bigger. But that comes with decisions. If I travel, someone needs to fill orders. That means staff. And I can’t keep working out of a small room—I’d need real space or even a warehouse.

But I think I’m ready. It’s taken three years to get here, but that’s how building a real business works. I’ve loved every minute—and had incredible honey every single day along the way.
