Shane’s List of Domains at Auction for Monday, April 6th, 2026

You’ve probably read about Tesla having 50,000 unsold vehicles in their inventory last quarter. This means they produced significantly more than they sold. Their stock took a hit based on the general consensus that worldwide sales are slowing, not necessarily declining, but rather that their production capacity now exceeds consumer demand.

However, people noticed one interesting exception. The “Luxe” package, which includes free charging for life, Full Self-Driving (FSD), and free Wi-Fi, was the most popular configuration. So, what did Tesla do? They raised the price of any remaining inventory cars equipped with those packages by $15,000.

I would love to own a Tesla, but I can’t handle dynamic pricing on a vehicle. If you pay monthly for these services, they become just like a Netflix account; the price goes up periodically, and there’s nothing you can do about it unless you lock it in upfront. I also don’t entirely trust Elon. Specifically, I don’t trust that he won’t “turn off” features. I know it sounds crazy, but I feel like if I say the wrong thing on X, he might disable my car or my FSD. You might say, “There’s no way he would do that,” and yet, deep down, it wouldn’t actually surprise you.

I only realized the price had jumped because I was looking into buying a Model Y. I noticed the cost had increased in the few weeks since I last checked. I originally thought I might snag a discount since they had so much extra inventory, which might be true for base models, unless you want to lock in (or eliminate) those monthly costs. That’s the downside of big data: when a company finds out exactly what people want, they make sure to price it accordingly. Not saying they aren’t smart for doing it, merely saying I’m on the wrong side of good data
