I went to a wedding this weekend, and it got me thinking about the photo part of it. There were three people roaming the room taking pictures of the bride and groom, but also of everyone in the crowd. Family photos, but also a bunch of candid shots. This seems like a perfect opportunity for AI to be useful.
There could be an option where, if you choose, you enter your name and upload a few photos of yourself so AI can scan all the images, find you, and send you the photos you appear in. The cost to the photographer would be minimal once the front end is set up. If people are not comfortable uploading photos, they can still do it the old fashioned way.
This could also be done with running races, and to some extent it already has been, but mostly by race bib number. It makes sense that anyone attending a race could upload their photos, and runners could choose to buy them if they thought they were good. You could find yourself through facial recognition or a race number. Most attendees are already there watching friends anyway, so why not take pictures of people as they pass by. Make a little money, and race participants do not have to pay the crazy $20 per picture that race photo companies often charge.
This would work really well for both smaller and larger races, and you would probably end up with more photos overall.
I think either, or both, business models would work well, and yet I am completely unwilling to put the effort into either one 😂
