I can’t remember if I mentioned it here or on X, but my father-in-law became a widower and really struggled with his purpose. He couldn’t golf or do the things he enjoyed anymore, and he’d lost the person he loved most. So we started him an Intagram account and a blog. He loves to write and he started talking about his meals on Instagram. His meals have become viral on Instagram. If I did already mention it, I’ve got an update.
The guy now has over 20,000 followers—and he’s gaining more than a thousand a day. Each post is getting around 50,000 views. He was so humbled by it and genuinely didn’t understand why so many people were showing up. I told him it’s because he’s exactly what people are looking for: no politics, just authenticity. A kind, wholesome voice. Someone who reminds them of their grandpa.
Ironically, when we visit him, he just sits in his chair and barely says a word—but Instagram thinks he’s amazing, and honestly, that’s all that matters.
He’s starting to realize how popular he is. The other day he asked if he needed an agent or something. He even called the company that manages his neighborhood and assisted living center to tell them they only had 59 followers—and offered to help promote them. Said he has a big following and could give them a boost.
The whole family is getting a kick out of Grandpa becoming a viral star. For Easter, I made shirts for everyone with his catchphrase: “And a BIG cup of coffee.” It’s how he ends every video.
I’m also hiring him to promote my honey. I genuinely think he can move product if he features it in his videos. He’s the perfect pitchman—who wouldn’t want to buy something from Grandpa? We’ll see how it goes. If it works, this might just be my new influencer angle: seniors with big followings.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

That’s a great story about your father-in-law. God bless him.
