“People need to be reminded much more than they need to be taught.”
In domaining, you aren’t going to teach a buyer why a domain is great. It is a complete waste of time to tell them it’s “premium,” registered in other TLDs, or targets a “trillion-dollar TAM.”
The only thing you should share is a link to comps to remind them of the current value of similar domains. Definitely don’t show them non-comps or domains that have absolutely nothing to do with yours.
The average outbound campaign takes 4 to 20 emails just to get someone interested. Often, they actually like the domain, but then life takes over. It’s the consistent touches from you that remind them it’s for sale and nudge them to finally sit down and talk to you about it.
In general, people are smart. They know what they like and want, and only people they respect will alter those feelings or decisions, definitely not a generic landing page or a cold email.
At the end of the day, outbound, any sales, isn’t about the hard sell, it’s about staying top of mind until the timing is right.
If you spend your cycles trying to convince a skeptic you’ve wasted both of your times. Let them, send the comps after you’ve had a few conversations, and execute your follow-ups like a professional. When they are finally ready to pull the trigger, make sure you are the one sitting at the table.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
