When I started my first blog, WallStreetFighter, I barely had any readers that first year. When I launched DomainShane (now DSAD), I had zero readers until I landed on the Domaining.com feed. And without Francois advertising that first year, I would have had zero income. The formula for building an audience has never changed: Show up every day, share your passion, and be consistent and authentic.
This lesson hit home again this week. My father-in-law, a widower, has been sharing his homemade meals on Instagram for years. Every weekend, he posts his “Big Breakfast”—a tradition he shared with his wife, one he still carries on in her honor. His plate is stacked high, his captions are heartfelt, and his presence is unwavering. And now? He’s going viral. Hundreds of likes, comments pouring in, and a growing audience who just loves seeing him show up.
It’s a reminder I need daily. Just write. Have fun. Make it real. And do it again tomorrow.
