The Weekly “Can You Guess Which Domain Sold For More?” Contest

Last week proved that nobody has a complete handle on which domains are more valuable than others. Sure it’s easy to tell the difference between Sex.com and thrsp.com but this week I’m going to put names that weren’t even close so it SHOULD be easier. The winner wins an incredible array of prizes with the Grand Prize being all the leftovers from the Southern California Domainers Meetup. I heard filet mignon is better the second day so a week later should be incredible. A quick review of the rules. Name one is A, name two is B. In the comment section use the format a,a,b,a,a etc for your answers. Tie goes to the person I choose. Again, cheating is between you and your Karma

Name A………………..Name B

1. Practica.com Vs. Hortica.com

2. RapidPorn.com Vs. TravelZone.com

3. PeopleSearch.org Vs. Requested.com

4. Tuto.com Vs. Necklace.net

5. RedApples.com Vs. Blabr.com

6. StayingAlive.com Vs. ElectricalFences.com

7. Kulu.com Vs. iPal.com

8. MadridAirport.com Vs. TreasureMap.com

9. Jawa.com Vs. Pipi.com

10. Wizzle.com Vs. BikeRacks.net

  1. 1. Practica.com Vs. Hortica.com

Neither should have sold for much beyond the registration fee, but I’ll guess practica.com

    2. RapidPorn.com Vs. TravelZone.com

    TravelZone.com

    3. PeopleSearch.org Vs. Requested.com

    PeopleSearch.org

    4. Tuto.com Vs. Neclace.net

Again, neither has real value, but I’ll guess the misspelled neclace.net

    5. RedApples.com Vs. Blabr.com

Hmmm. No real value but I’ll bet someone bought blabr.com for more.

    6. StayingAlive Vs. ElectricalFences.com

ElectricalFences.com should have sold for more.

    7. Kulu.com Vs. iPal.com

    iPal.com

    8. MadridAirport.com Vs. TreasureMap.com

    Should have been Madrid Airport.com

    9. Jawa.com Vs. Pipi.com

Made up names again, so it’s anyone’s guess. I’ll say Jawa.com

    10. Wizzle.com Vs. BikeRacks.net

Should have been BikeRacks.net but I’ll say wizzle just for fun.

Personally, I don’t think made up names have any value. Why would I buy someone else’s made up name for any money when I can make up a name and register it for $10?

But you are right, predicting the sale is difficult and there is no telling what someone will buy.

Reply: All good points but really you’ve never heard of a Jawa? Maybe not as big of a Fanboy (starwars) as I was. And if everyone would please put a,b,a,a format so I can tabulate easier but feel free to comment

  2. “Name one is A, name two is B. In the comment section use the format a,a,b,c etc for your answers.”

    Okay I admit I am a dimwit.

    I find your instructions confusing.

“Name one is A, name two is B.”

Does that mean “Practica.com” is A answer yes
and “Hortica.com” is B? answer yes

    Where does “C” come in?

Why not make it simple and just have us list the domain we think sold for more?

Or make it clear that the first domain is “A”
and the opponent domain is “B”.

Reply. OK accidentally throwing that “C” in there certainly made things confusing but man people are in a weird mood today. Must be spring is around the corner. Put the name, put A or B. I appreciate the participation either way. Patrick, you going to put in your picks?

And that there is no “C”.

  3. 1. NEITHER, they both suck! But B just for saying it.
