THE BIG AFTERMARKET LIST: Tuesday’s Domains at Auction or Dropping on June 17th, 2014

Escrow.com

I don’t talk about it much but before my running days, I was a soccer player.  Every minute of my free time from 5 years old until 20 years old. I slept with the ball, I had it at my feet when I walked around.  I was hooked early by the pure chance that I was on a state championship team at the age of 6.  The success continued as I moved around the country and had the pleasure of playing in summer leagues in Germany and France representing the US. Before the age of 12 I was one of the best.  Making select teams that represented at first the city, then the state.  Everyone was just waiting to see how I matured.  I did, but it took a little longer than other players.  The top kids caught up quickly in High School. Not really surpassing my skills but physically they men, I was still a boy.  When it was time to go to college I was mentally starting to burn out. I had lived and breathed soccer for a long time.  I never really tried anything else because I had such success.  Where I’m heading with this is the goal of my life was to play in the world cup. Watching it bring back a lot of emotions from my youth.

Watching the US win yesterday brought it all back.  Early on in my  career there were coaches and scouts that thought  if I “kept it up” I would be trying out for the national team .  It was just enough to keep the dream alive.  But as the other guys got bigger and stronger I soon realized I was a great soccer player, just not elite.  It’s not settling for anything, its managing reality.  By the time my body became strong and big I played a few more years and then I was done. But the competition and journey helped me in a lot of things I do today.  Even in my running, I am competing with others and myself.  Some people think I have achieved amazing things but I am not elite. I am great for my age group but at the national race in Boston I place 80th.   I am fortunate that I am still getting faster but I accept the fact that won’t continue forever.  I accept there will always be someone faster.  But each year there are less.  And watching the world cup brings it all back.  I remember that yearning, that love, the dreaming.  It was everything.  Now I watch as an old man appreciating that these young men are achieving their goals and I can be happy for them because I truly understand. Been there, almost done that.   On another note, Congrats to Francois on his new platform, Lend.ME, I hope it’s a big success, he deserves it.  Here are today’s names. .
