Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday January 9th, 2019

So here is my domain portfolio from Feb of 2009.  The price to the right is what I paid for them.  I haven’t gone back to see which names I still have but unfortunately I still have quite a few of them.  One thing I noticed as I looked at it again is my blatant trademark infringing domains.  I was trying to make a little typo money and in hind site I was a squatter.  I learned pretty quickly and none of those are in my portfolio (pretty sure they aren’t).  Thankfully I didn’t get sued like so many domain investors did.  The other negative is what is not in my portfolio 10 years ago. So many great domains were available to buy back then yet I didn’t take advantage.  I just didn’t know what I was doing and this is the route I took.   Like I said in an earlier post, at least I didn’t lose money on my first batch of domain purchases. I sold enough of these to pay for all of them and the renewals and used that money to buy 20 NNNN.coms so it worked out fine.  That probably did well enough to make up for what I missed out on.  I also know that if I had bought really good names I would have sold them anyway because I was happy to make almost anything when I started.  $1000 moved the needle back then and should now but doesn’t as much as I’d like.   Take a look, critique all you want because its done and can’t change anything (except drop some names).  I know I still have HDDH, Koggy, Koosy, and Soosy but most are sold or dropped.   And if you want to go to DomainIQ and see what I have now you’ll see its getting better.  Of course it better after a decade of doing this.  And ignore the 6N and the dot nets at DomainIq.   Those are all pretty much gone now.

Here are today’s names.  Click through to see the current price and to fund this daily list

Quote of the Day:

Domain of the Day:

Namejet, Sedo, and other Names Up for Auction   Productivity domains.  Pretty much everything has a toolbar up top.  Met reserve    As soon as anyone gets sick or hurt the first place they turn to is the Net.   Also met reserve  17 years old.  Good name for a watchdog/reporting site.  Met reserve    Some great comps for io on  Multiple uses.  Commission a painting or art comes to mind first  Oh My God is all I see now when I see OMG    A collected VCVC pattern.  Also a typo of Anal if that gives it any value   Another nice collectible.    Notre Dame   the Havy and the Havy nots   If the reserve is towards the left side of the range it could sell  Syringe in German  No bids on this Sedo expiring name

Godaddy Domains With Multiple Bids    Another Indeed but actually shows what the site is about   Godaddy gives this the top value on today’s list.   Never even heard of the British girl group that fills the Google results  Top number of bids but you’re buying history and backlinks at this price   Its a first name and surname.   And a nice little   Means “Old Buda” and is a section of Budapest which was a merger of Buda and Pest.  We all learned today  People are probably bidding on BuyAI than a regular old   Sounds like solid advice  Two uses here.  One its the area code for Hawaii.  Two its the machine they used to do the beats back in the old school hip hop days.   All about the 808    Miami is the home   I have no idea what NNNN.nets go for but I’ll learn a little more today. With

Godaddy Domains With One or No Bids  Just like it sounds.  Take a helicopter and swoop in and play a round of golf.   I see it in Hawaii  I see Musical.  Used to be a crowdfunding site for music artists.  I guess we know how it worked out.  Gets a little traffic  Plenty of room for more Chaturbate type sites.  Even though I don’t know what that is  Not a terrible domain for $12  I know a few guys that graduated from this place. Or I assume they did  I prefer Super Cultra  I actually think this could work well for lawn grass not just cannabis  More memorable than Quora  Girls/Women can do lawn maintenance too  Sounds like a waterpark that makes me almost fall asleep on the drive home because the kids ran me ragged  Let Draft Ninja help you win the draft and win the league  I think most 5L are worth $12 at this point.  My opinion only.  Don’t buy based on my statements or you will lose all your money and you’ll be forced to work for Mike Berkens and I making sure we’ve used there, they’re, and their A startup that raises a company like only a mother could

  1. I’m kind of confused here but are you confusing with or did the 20’s come after these purchases? Those 20 alone would be high 6 figures today. I know you were early with the short names so the’s make sense but I don’t remember you ever mentioning buying

      1. Thanks for the correction. I think part of the genius of the domain curmudgeon is that he had the conviction to hold onto his domains. But then again he had residual income from his adult domains so maybe not so genius.
