Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday May 7th, 2020

Escrow.com

We’ve gone over this quite a few times but let me provide you with a summary of what I am seeing in the aftermarket.

  1. There are just as many great names dropping as ever before. The thought was always that as names became valuable, less would drop and the expiry market would start to become slim pickings. Didn’t happen. Tens of millions of dollars of domains failed to get renewed
  2. Prices are crazy. But they are only crazy because people are selling enough names that they have the cash to pay the prices. These prices couldn’t hold if people were only buying. At some point there has to be selling to keep the market moving up. Obviously there is
  3. It’s tough for the small guy. Prices for even mediocre names are high three figures, low four. Good names are 3K plus. In the “real” world that’s a lot of cash to lay out. Combine the fact you are trying to build a portfolio so that you can sell one to pay for others but don’t know which one is THE one that sells you need a stable. A stable is expensive now
  4. The large companies/buyers are paying whatever it takes to keep inventory. I think they are single handily causing higher prices for all of us.
  5. When we look back these prices will still look cheap, just like names we bought 4 years ago look today. Those of us that bought for the last 10 years have a huge advantage over new investors in that our portfolios were acquired at pennies on the dollar compared to today. We will always have an advantage unless they put in a big chunk of outside money in to get started.
  6. Did I mention the recent prices are crazy?

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

  1. GrowIndoors is my name … still alive and well. NetworkSolutions just sucks at its job once you transfer out.

Thanks for the shoutout! Now I’m off to raise the price 😀
