The amount of Godaddy and Namjet auctions today is significantly smaller than normal. I’m not sure if there’s a specific reason, or maybe there were less registrations a 13 months ago (or whatever the date is that correlates with today’s auction.)
We went to the ICA dinner last night, while there I went through my emails and saw one from BrandBucket with transfer instructions for a domain that was sold on Thursday. I never even saw the original sales email. I also sold a name on Godaddy Premium today, there’s nothing like passively selling domains while “networking” with other domainers.
I attended the Session today with Paul Nicks from Godaddy. He presented a lot of data on domain sales and pricing, the video is available to watch somewhere. I’ll try and add the link, I think it’s worthwhile to take a look. It’ll give you insight into normal domain sales that happen every day.

I’m really upset I couldn’t finally come this year. The combination of things led NamesCon being completely off the table for me this year. Really sucks because I was really looking forward to finally meeting everyone!

FYI .. 35 days ago = Christmas .. so the big drop in volume is expected (only about 25k expired names on GD’s auctions today) .. although volume has been fluctuating quite a bit lately.
