The last few days have been brutal. 13 inches of snow isn’t a lot for a lot of places but 35mph winds for 3 days straight is a whole other level. Central IL is wide open too so the wind has nothing to stop it. Which meant that plowing lasts for about 30 minutes. We had machines break down and the road to the nursery was closed and impassable. The gas stations to fill up our equipment ran out of fuel because they couldn’t get a truck in so we had to bring in diesel 5 gallons at a time. We had employees get stuck coming to help plow. I have one more day of it and then we should be good and I’m headed down to NC. Actually into another storm but I’ll let someone else plow that.
I am safe but that’s about it. I’m physically beat, mentally exhausted and 15 hours sleep the last three days. But I rally well. I’ve taken Airborne and all my vitamins every day because I’ve done 3 day shifts like this in climbing and running. I can do it without much problem. But 3 days is it, maybe 4 but hopefully I won’t find out if 4 is the number. Enjoy the day everyone.
