If you have been watching lately, you have seen that GoDaddy’s stock is down about 50% over the last 12 months. I hate to see it because so many people I call friends work at GoDaddy and have a large portion of their wealth tied to GoDaddy stock options. Going from $200 to $100 cuts their wealth in half. It is not real money until it vests, but it still hurts.
I did think it was a bit juicy at $200, but I am definitely interested at this price. A $14 billion valuation for them feels light in my opinion. They are by far the biggest registrar. They monetize their domains under management better than any company, and they have the largest expiry income of everyone. I do not feel AI is going to move the needle very much, but their cash position and ability to buy profit centers is there.
Their buy and burn method has been a little costly and did more for reducing income than creating it. That does not have to be the case moving forward.
Not financial advice. Like everything I do and say, it is to bring attention and let you make your own calls.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

I’ve been a customer of their pretty much from their founding, and will never switch to a competitor.
But their other products have never, ever impressed me, especially their website builder. I recently tried using their AI-enhanced version, and had absolutely no success at all building something easily.
I agree here. They need to improve all the add ons
